Newark, Delaware Logo Design

Each and every new Newark business realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners entirely grasp the key role their business logo can perform in their success, or precisely why one logo performs far better than another. A logo has an instant and long term influence on the success of a business, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Newark, Delaware companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to movie screens a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be ageless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.
Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Newark, Delaware coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an old part of town and wanted to project a nostalgic feel without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks via developing a custom logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria made for Newark, Delaware medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which researches the triggers and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I recollect where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Newark, Delaware.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Newark, Delaware travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the photos they record. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Newark logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Newark logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective point of views on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo comprehend how vital a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Newark, Delaware book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most essential part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects folks often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Newark logo design utilized for marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Newark, Delaware, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it appears that each and every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo which projected a sense of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a company logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is generally the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the importance on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the style features and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a company logo is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell off their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Newark business logo dsign utilizing a graphic that seizes the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo design has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Newark, Delaware area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this particular company logo was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Newark Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for outwardly facing arrow as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo design developed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
