Bloomingdale Logo Design

Every new Bloomingdale venture realizes that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully are aware of the crucial role their logo can play in their success, or exactly why one business logo functions far better than another. A logo has a critical and sustaining influence on the prosperity of a business, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Bloomingdale businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand contemplation, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Bloomingdale coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an older section of the town and wanted to visualize a nostalgic tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs via creating a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria made for Bloomingdale medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable facility in Bloomingdale.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Bloomingdale traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional journeys through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bloomingdale logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Bloomingdale logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral assessments on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how important a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of challenges, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Bloomingdale publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, but it really is the most crucial part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems like that in many cases one of the traits folks tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a sense of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Bloomingdale logo style utilized for marketing and a label design for Vintage Situation includes an old typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this business logo design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Bloomingdale, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it seems that every single dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to summarize precisely how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that related a feeling of peace and class for their new hair salon. I created a design that did not go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo design that implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian horse logo style developed for a horse cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original custom logo concept fashioned to epitomize the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. By having a different head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the most immediately identifiable equine types in the whole world.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the design features and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a business logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Bloomingdale business logo dsign using a graphic which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t actually composed for an Bloomingdale area farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this particular brand was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to design a graphic that projected assurance, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo designed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is reminiscent of a popular sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to create a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
