Coral Gables Logo Design

Nearly every new Coral Gables business knows they require a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly recognize the key role their logo can play in their financial success, or precisely why one business logo functions better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting impact on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Coral Gables businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Coral Gables coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an older section of the town and wished to visualize an old-fashioned atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by means of creating a trademark design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria made for Coral Gables clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog designed for a family fun center in Coral Gables.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - created for Coral Gables traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Coral Gables logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Coral Gables logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get objective judgements on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo realize how important a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Coral Gables book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most critical part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems that in many instances 1 of the traits folks usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Coral Gables logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and a tag style for Vintage Case features an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Coral Gables, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that almost every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to explain how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair design workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo which communicated a feeling of peace and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious route of making merely a stylized orchid but instead created a logo design which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is usually the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software designer the style functions and also legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Progress logo style developed for a Coral Gables interior designer, style attribute a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Coral Gables logo dsign with an illustration which grabs the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Coral Gables regional farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this particular trademark was one of multiple which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to design a graphic that projected assurance, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo developed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the owner to create a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
