POINTERS FOR IDENTIFYING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design firm presents a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not refund the time you commit which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not contain actual examples chances are they will never be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s purpose is to echo your unique vision for your organization. If a logo designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they will get paid.

DeBary LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds develop memorable brands. We’ve performed logo design work for mechanics, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, cafes, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes us different compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every brand identity project as though it will be used as an electric sign. Because of our sign first method our logo designs can, and have been used in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or web headers, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered no matter of size or use.

American Made ★ Design

Something which seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design companies that you might possibly have encountered on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are retained to do, we do in-house. No matter the kind of design project we undertake, brand identity design, business website, trade show display, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job out our client’s work to organizations based outside the USA. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that marks up the price of your design project and dictates the conditions of how we conduct business.

ASPECTS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new DeBary organization realizes that they require a logo, yet few new business owners entirely realize the vital role their company logo can play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one business logo works more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and long term impact on the financial success of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help DeBary companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to retail signs a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be lasting and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb and also a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of marking something to ensure that it could be recognized, its origin comes from the mark branded onto livestock. These days a brand represents basically anything with an intention, regardless if it be earnings or politics, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the worth of a specific thing in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are each from the same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest aimed at a target market, it’s objective is to create an image that the target market will likely identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When a person says the brand names Ferrari or Corvette what we consider is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why individuals get specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the beginning of a lot of branding firms you’ll find that they are quite often rebranded advertising and marketing companies. When a person says they are in marketing lots of people will likely have an idea about what they do. However when a person says “I am in branding”… it simply seems much more impressive, probably it’s since most people don’t know what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and kind of attractive.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that explains the visual elements of a product or agency that influence view points. This mainly consists of the name, the logo design, the packaging, the different colors utilized yet can also include sound, illumination, texture, signage, just about anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps form the image of a business, a product or a business. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, packaging, as well as collateral material such as cards, stationery, and also brochures. Some visual designers also design sites and also user interfaces. The important role of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the objective of affecting actions, results as well as assumptions.

Featured logos & signs

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a DeBary coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an old part of the city and hoped to cast an old-fashioned tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks by means of designing a logo concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs developed for DeBary medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a household enjoyable center in DeBary.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for DeBary travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  DeBary logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

DeBary logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get objective viewpoints on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo understand how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of challenges, however the most significant challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for DeBary publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most essential part of a printed book since it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems like that in many instances 1 of the things consumers often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was definitely a winner.

DeBary logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and a label design for Vintage Case includes an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in DeBary, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that virtually every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a DeBary hair style studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that carried a spirit of serenity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of creating just a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a business logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is in most cases the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo style developed for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a unique brand concept fashioned to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. By having an unique head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly easily recognizable horse lineages in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A DeBary Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, style includes a changed script typeface which floats over a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a little dining establishment, style includes a customized manuscript typeface which floats above a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design functions and also legendary DeBary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Advance logo design produced for a DeBaryindoor developer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect as well as change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a DeBary interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who plans, researches, coordinates, and oversees such projects. Interior design is a diverse profession that consists of conceptual development, area planning, site assessments, programming, study, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in DeBary, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have actually been changed to connect straight into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular DeBary logo design assignment was performed for a leadership coach that aids business leaders to develop into more efficient at managing people, expectations, and profitability.

A DeBary business logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to market their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their DeBary logo design along with a graphic which garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this DeBary company logo style has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually composed for an DeBary area farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to create a graphic that projected trust, effectiveness, and prosperity.

DeBary Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style function for outwardly encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design that they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo design created for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a renowned DeBary sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the business owner to design a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
