Dunedin, Florida Logo Design

Every new Dunedin organization realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners fully grasp the essential role their logo can take in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design functions better than another. A business logo has an immediate and long term influence on the success of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Dunedin, Florida companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Dunedin, Florida coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were opening in an old section of the community and really wanted to project a vintage atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by creating a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs created for Dunedin, Florida clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which deals with the laboratory evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping green frog developed for a household fun facility in Dunedin, Florida.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to feature a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Dunedin, Florida travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Dunedin logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Dunedin logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo understand how important a logo design is for their organization so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s share of obstacles, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Dunedin, Florida publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most necessary part of a published book because it is often the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the things consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was certainly a success.

Dunedin logo style used for advertising and a label style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this custom logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Dunedin, Florida, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually really love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair layout studio featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which carried an atmosphere of relaxation and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious path of crafting simply a stylized orchid but alternatively crafted a logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the importance on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo design for a software programmer the style functions and also famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a business logo is just as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Dunedin logo dsign utilizing an illustration that seizes the interest of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually developed for an Dunedin, Florida regional farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to produce a graphic that projects self-confidence, effectiveness, and luxury.

Dunedin Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first try.

Logo made for making use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script typeface that is evocative a renowned sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
