Dunedin Logo Design

Each and every new Dunedin venture understands that they need a logo, however few new business owners fully grasp the vital role their business logo will perform in their success, or why one business logo works better than another. A company logo has a critical and long term effect on the financial success of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Dunedin companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require consideration, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Dunedin coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an older part of the city and wished to project a vintage vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by means of creating a sign design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria created for Dunedin clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog made for a family members fun facility in Dunedin.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Dunedin traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Dunedin logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Dunedin logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get honest point of views on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo understand how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of hurdles, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Dunedin book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most necessary part of a published book considering that it is usually the first thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many cases one of the traits folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a spirit of flight and it was surely a victory.

Dunedin logo design utilized for marketing and a label design for Vintage Instance includes an archaic font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Dunedin, design consist of an arc with lines converging via it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it seems that almost every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which conveyed a feeling of relaxation and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious course of crafting merely a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Arabian horse logo design created for an equine cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct organization logo concept styled to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. With a distinctive head shape and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily recognizable horse lineages in the whole world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a small restaurant, layout consists of a changed script font which hovers above a group of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the design functions and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

Progress logo design developed for a Dunedin interior designer, layout feature a collection of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo layout done for Advanced Leadership Solutions, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of words progressed have actually been modified to tie directly into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Dunedin logo design job was carried out for a management specialist that helps business leaders to develop into more effective at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo style including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Dunedin logo design dsign utilizing a graphic that grabs the interest of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Dunedin area farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of a handful of which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to create a brand mark that projects trust, financial success, and wealth.
Logo design developed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the owner to produce a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
