TIPS ON IDENTIFYING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so anytime a design company offers a money back guarantee try to remember that they can not refund the time you invest which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but ultimately a designer can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not feature real life examples odds are they will not be able to produce a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and remembered, and it’s purpose is to mirror your unique vision for your organization. If a designer is not focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Estero LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs grow memorable brand identities. We have undertaken brand identity design work for mechanics, universities, heart surgeons, wedding singers, diners, retailers, and just about every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes us unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every design as though it will be utilized as an electric sign. Because of our sign first strategy our designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first technique ensures that our logos are just as effective whether they are used in television commercials or website apps, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered no matter of scale or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

Something that seriously sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you probably have encountered in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are retained to do, we do ourselves. Irrespective of the kind of project we undertake, business logo, business website, trade show exhibition, or retail sign, we do not, and never will contract out our client’s work to contractors located outside the United States. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that increases the cost of your project and determines the terms of how we do business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Every new Estero entrepreneur understands that they probably need a logo, but few start-ups fully recognize the essential role their organization’s logo will play in their success, or why one logo functions far better than another. A logo has a critical and lasting effect on the viability of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Estero companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from label to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be lasting and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the process of marking something to ensure that it could be recognized, its genesis originates from the mark branded onto livestock. Today a brand represents basically anything with an intention, regardless if it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the worth of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive cousin, they are all from the exact same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity competition directed at a target audience, it’s goal is to produce an image that the target market will likely connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and identity design. When someone states the brand names Lamborghini or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes people purchase those brands. Brand image is why individuals buy most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the origin of many branding agencies you’ll find that they are often rebranded marketing firms. When a person states they are in marketing most people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps form the public image of a company, a product or a business. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some identity designers also build websites and also user interfaces. The crucial role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and an emotional tone with the objective of influencing activities, outcomes and also understandings.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Estero coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an old section of town and wished to visualize a vintage tone without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks via creating a custom logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria made for Estero clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Estero.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Estero travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Estero logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Estero logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I truly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo comprehend how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of difficulties, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Estero publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most necessary part of a published book given that it is usually the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it looks like that in many cases one of the traits people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of flight and it was definitely a winner.

Estero logo design used for advertising and also a tag design for Vintage Situation includes an old font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Estero, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a Estero hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design that projected a spirit of calmness and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious course of crafting just a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian horse logo design created for a steed ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind logo concept fashioned to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. By having an identifiable head shape and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily identifiable horse breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Estero Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, design includes a modified manuscript font which floats over a group of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a small restaurant, style contains a modified manuscript font style which hovers above a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software application designer the layout attributes as well as iconic Estero element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the company it represents.

Evolve logo design developed for a Esterointerior developer, style attribute a collection of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Estero interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who arranges, explores, collaborates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a diverse occupation that consists of conceptual development, area planning, location assessments, programming, research study, communicating with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Estero, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have actually been changed to connect directly into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Estero logo design assignment was undertaken for a management guide that assists business professionals to become more successful at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Estero business logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Estero business logo design using an image that captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Estero company logo layout has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t really composed for an Estero area farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this business logo was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to make an identity that projects self-assurance, financial success, and luxury.

Estero Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for outwardly dealing with arrowhead as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo design developed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a well-known Estero sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
