Fort Lauderdale Logo Design

Virtually every new Fort Lauderdale business understands that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the pivotal role their logo design will take in their success, or precisely why one logo design works more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and long term impact on the growth of a company, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Fort Lauderdale companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Fort Lauderdale coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were launching in an older part of the city and wished to project an old-fashioned feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs via developing a sign design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs created for Fort Lauderdale clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the clinical examination of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family fun facility in Fort Lauderdale.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for Fort Lauderdale travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Fort Lauderdale logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Fort Lauderdale logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral point of views on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of challenges, but the biggest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Fort Lauderdale book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the first thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the aspects consumers tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a sense of flight and it was certainly a winner.

Fort Lauderdale logo style used for advertising as well as a label layout for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be much older cases. For this logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Fort Lauderdale, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that almost every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dental care business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which conveyed an atmosphere of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design which didn’t go the obvious route of crafting merely a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the main focus on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application designer the design functions as well as legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a company logo is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Fort Lauderdale logo design dsign along with a graphic which grabs the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t really designed for an Fort Lauderdale area farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Logo designed for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is reminiscent of a popular sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
