POINTERS FOR SELECTING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design company presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can’t refund the amount of time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but inevitably a designer can only be determined from the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t feature real world samples odds are they won’t be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s objective is to reflect your personal vision for your company. If a logo designer isn’t focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Jasmine Estates LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds establish unforgettable brand identities. We’ve done brand design work for mechanics, colleges, diamond miners, wedding singers, coffee roasters, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes ImageCo unique compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every branding project as though it will be employed as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first method our logo designs can, and have been utilized in everything from garment labels to electrical signs. Our sign first approach insures that our logo designs are just as effective whether they are used in TV commercials or web headers, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and always remembered irrespective of size or use.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you might have found in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are retained to perform, we do ourselves. No matter the type of design project we take on, brand identity design, website, trade show booth, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job out our customer’s work to contractors located outside the USA. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that increases the cost of your design project and determines the terms of how my customers and I conduct business.

ASPECTS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

Every new Jasmine Estates business realizes that they need a logo, however few start-ups entirely grasp the essential role their business logo will perform in their success, or why one logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and long-term impact on the viability of a business, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Jasmine Estates companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not need deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the item or company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb as well as a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the act of noting something to make sure that it could be recognized, its genesis originates from the mark burned onto livestock. Today a brand symbolizes practically anything with a motive, whether it be earnings or politics, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the worth of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are both from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest directed at a target market, it’s objective is to develop a mental image that the target market will identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody says the names Porsche or Mustang what we think about is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals purchase those products. Brand image is why people acquire most things, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the beginning of a lot of branding firms you’ll discover that they are frequently rebranded marketing and advertising companies. When a person says they are in advertising and marketing lots of people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that focuses on a type of visual design that helps form the perception of a company, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and collateral material such as business cards, stationery, as well as brochures. Some identity designers also design web sites as well as user interfaces. The essential function of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues as well as an emotional tone with the goal of affecting actions, results and perceptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Jasmine Estates coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were launching in an older section of the area and wanted to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by creating a business logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and also bacteria made for Jasmine Estates clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo style with a leaping green frog created for a family members fun center in Jasmine Estates.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - created for Jasmine Estates traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but rather project emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Jasmine Estates logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Jasmine Estates logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral judgements on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo understand how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Jasmine Estates publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most essential part of a printed book given that it is often the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many instances one of the items consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Jasmine Estates logo layout made use of for marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Case includes an old typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Jasmine Estates, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a Jasmine Estates hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which conveyed an atmosphere of tranquility and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead crafted a business logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately laid the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Arabian equine logo layout developed for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a one-of-a-kind custom logo concept customized to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With an unique head form and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately recognizable horse lineages in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Jasmine Estates Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, design contains a customized manuscript font which hovers above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a small restaurant, style contains a modified script font style which floats above a group of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo design for a software designer the layout attributes and also famous Jasmine Estates element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

Develop logo design developed for a Jasmine Estatesindoor developer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Jasmine Estates interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is someone who plans, explores, coordinates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a multifaceted occupation that involves conceptual development, space planning, site examinations, programming, research, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Jasmine Estates, the personalities for letter V and also A in center of words progressed have actually been changed to connect directly into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Jasmine Estates logo design project was performed for a management specialist that aids business leaders to develop into more efficient at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Jasmine Estates business logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Jasmine Estates logo design utilizing a graphic which garners the interest of traffic and sends an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Jasmine Estates company logo layout has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t really developed for an Jasmine Estates area farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to design an identity that projected trust, financial success, and wealth.

Jasmine Estates Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for ostensibly facing arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo created for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is reminiscent of a popular Jasmine Estates sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to produce a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
