POINTERS ON FINDING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can not refund the amount of time you commit which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their design portfolio does not feature real world samples odds are they will never be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to echo your unique vision for your business. If a logo designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Largo LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping small business owners develop unforgettable brand identities. We have done logo design work for ranchers, colleges, diamond miners, party planners, bistros, retail stores, and practically every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo different compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every branding project as if it will be used as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first strategy our brand identity designs can, and have been used in everything from clothing labels to billboards. Our sign first approach ensures that our logo designs are equally reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or website applications, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered no matter of size or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design firms that you might have encountered in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are enlisted to perform, we perform ourselves. Regardless of the type of design project we accept, logo, business website, trade show display, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s work to 3rd parties located outside the USA. When you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a middleman that increases the cost of your design project and imposes the conditions of how you and I do business.

ASPECTS OF A POWERFUL LOGO DESIGN

It’s likely that every new Largo company knows they need a logo, yet few start ups thoroughly realize the crucial role their company logo can make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo functions far better than another. A logo has a critical and lasting effect on the viability of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Largo businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from label to retail signs a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be lasting and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s a verb as well as a noun, it’s an identifying mark and also the process of marking something to make sure that it could be recognized, its origin originates from the mark burned onto livestock. Nowadays a brand signifies virtually anything with an objective, regardless of whether it be profit or politics, a brand is an inherent aspect of specifying the value of a specific thing in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are all from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest targeted at a target market, it’s goal is to develop a mental image that the target market can identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When somebody says the names Porsche or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and brand image is what makes people buy those brands. Brand image is why individuals acquire specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the origin of a lot of branding firms you’ll discover that they are frequently rebranded marketing agencies. When someone states they are in marketing many people will likely have an idea about what they do. But when someone claims “I’m in branding”… it simply seems much more impressive, probably it’s because the majority of people do not understand what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and maybe even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is a comprehensive term that defines the visual components of a product or agency that influence understandings. This mostly consists of the name, the logo, the packaging, the different colors utilized but can also include sound, lighting, texture, signs, really anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a kind of visual design that helps form the image of a company, a product or a business. Brand identity designers create logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and also collateral products such as cards, stationery, as well as pamphlets. Some identity designers also build web sites and user interfaces. The vital duty of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and an emotional tone with the objective of affecting activities, results as well as perceptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Largo coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an old section of town and wished to cast a vintage tone without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both jobs by means of developing a custom logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria made for Largo medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family fun facility in Largo.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Largo traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Largo logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Largo logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get neutral viewpoints on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of challenges, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Largo book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, but it is the most vital part of a published book considering that it is usually the first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was certainly a success.

Largo logo layout used for advertising and marketing and also a label design for Vintage Case includes an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this brand design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Largo, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that almost every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a Largo hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which conveyed a feeling of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is oftentimes the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian equine logo design created for a horse ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a unique creative logo concept fashioned to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. With a different head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine types in the world.

Las Cafe, A Largo restaurant logo design a little restaurant, layout consists of a customized script font which floats over a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a small dining establishment, design contains a customized manuscript font style which floats above a team of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software programmer the style attributes as well as legendary Largo component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

Evolve logo design created for a Largointerior developer, design attribute a collection of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Largo interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who prepares, explores, collaborates, and oversees such projects. logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Largo, the characters for letter V and A in center of words advanced have been customized to tie straight into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Largo logo design job was completed for a management coach that enables business leaders to develop into more effective at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Largo business logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to sell their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Largo logo design along with an illustration which pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo style MQ ranches, this Largo company logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t really produced for an Largo regional farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to create an identity that projected esteem, financial success, and prosperity.

Largo Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design attribute for externally facing arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the first try.

Logo developed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is similar to a popular Largo sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
