Merritt Island, Florida Logo Design

Virtually every new Merritt Island business understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the vital role their logo design will make in their success, or the reason that one logo works more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and long term effect on the viability of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Merritt Island, Florida businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be ageless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle developed for a Merritt Island, Florida coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an older section of the community and hoped to project a nostalgic vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by means of creating a symbol concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria developed for Merritt Island, Florida clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family fun facility in Merritt Island, Florida.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Merritt Island, Florida traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather project emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Merritt Island logo but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Merritt Island logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to discuss it with colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo understand how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of difficulties, however the most significant challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Merritt Island, Florida publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most necessary part of a printed book considering that it is often the first thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it looks like that in many instances 1 of the items individuals tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of flight and it was certainly a victory.

Merritt Island logo layout used for advertising and a label design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Merritt Island, Florida, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo design that conveyed an atmosphere of serenity and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a design which didn’t go the obvious course of making simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo design that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the main focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo style for a software program programmer the design features and also legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo style including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Merritt Island logo dsign utilizing an illustration that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.

Merritt Island Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo style feature for ostensibly encountering arrow as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what type of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the freedom to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design created for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to design a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
