Sarasota, Florida Logo Design

Every new Sarasota company understands that they need a logo, however few new business owners entirely understand the key role their organization’s logo can play in their becoming successful, or why one business logo works better than another. A logo design has an immediate and lasting impact on the success of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Sarasota, Florida companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be lasting and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.
Retro logo style of a bike created for a Sarasota, Florida coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening in an old section of the town and hoped to project a nostalgic vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by creating a business logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria made for Sarasota, Florida medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog made for a family members fun center in Sarasota, Florida.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Sarasota, Florida traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead project emotional experiences through the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they often share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Sarasota logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Sarasota logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get honest point of views on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo design recognize how essential a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of obstacles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Sarasota, Florida book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most important part of a published book considering that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems that in many instances 1 of the aspects people usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Sarasota logo layout used for advertising and marketing and also a label design for Vintage Case includes an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this brand concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Sarasota, Florida, style consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which projected a spirit of peace and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious route of crafting just a stylized orchid but rather designed a company logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is generally the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the importance on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo style for a software developer the style attributes and also famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Sarasota logo design dsign using a graphic which seizes the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually developed for an Sarasota, Florida area farm it was actually designed for a commodities broker, and this business logo was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. Sarasota Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design attribute for outwardly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo design developed for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the business owner to develop a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
