Tallahassee, Florida Logo Design

Nearly every new Tallahassee company realizes that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly realize the pivotal role their logo design can take in their becoming successful, or why one logo design performs far better than another. A company logo has an instant and long term impact on the growth of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Tallahassee, Florida companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Tallahassee, Florida coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an older section of the community and wished to visualize a vintage tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by means of designing a business logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and germs made for Tallahassee, Florida clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more captivating, more attention grabbing and more memorable.

logo design with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members fun facility in Tallahassee, Florida.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Tallahassee, Florida traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the images they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Tallahassee logo design but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Tallahassee logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo understand how vital a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s share of hurdles, however the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Tallahassee, Florida book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most critical part of a published book because it is usually the very first thing a person sees in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it looks like that in many cases 1 of the aspects consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Tallahassee logo layout utilized for marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be used for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Tallahassee, Florida, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most challenging logo jobs considering that it appears that every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which carried an atmosphere of relaxation and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a logo which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is generally the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo style for a software designer the design features and legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance behind a logo design is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Tallahassee logo dsign with an illustration which pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand design wasn’t really created for an Tallahassee, Florida regional farm it was really devised for an investments broker, and this creative logo was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to produce an identity that projected confidence, financial success, and opulence.

Tallahassee Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly dealing with arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the opportunity to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the first go.

Logo created for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is similar to a famous sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed loads of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the proprietor to develop a business logo which worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
