The Hammocks, Florida Logo Design

Nearly every new The Hammocks business understands that they need a logo, but few new business owners fully realize the vital role their logo will take in their financial success, or the reason that one logo design functions far better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining impact on the growth of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help The Hammocks, Florida businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a The Hammocks, Florida coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were actually opening up in an older section of the city and really wanted to visualize a vintage vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by means of creating a symbol design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for The Hammocks, Florida clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which researches the causes and consequences of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog made for a family members fun facility in The Hammocks, Florida.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for The Hammocks, Florida traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  The Hammocks logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

The Hammocks logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I really take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest viewpoints on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo design realize how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for The Hammocks, Florida book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the things folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to confering a spirit of air travel and it was definitely a victory.

The Hammocks logo design utilized for marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Case features an antiquated typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this business logo design I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in The Hammocks, Florida, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it appears that every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really really love doing dentist logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities staggered in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to explain specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that communicated a feeling of calmness and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of crafting just a stylized orchid but instead created a logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is more often than not the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the attention on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian equine logo design developed for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout attributes and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell off their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their The Hammocks logo dsign utilizing an image that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t actually designed for an The Hammocks, Florida area farm it was actually devised for a products broker, and this particular business logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The Hammocks Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design attribute for outwardly facing arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I struck a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo design designed for the use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to develop a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
