Three Lakes Logo Design

Every new Three Lakes venture realizes that they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly recognize the essential role their organization logo can play in their success, or the reason that one logo works far better than another. A company logo has an instant and sustaining effect on the financial success of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Three Lakes companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be understood in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Three Lakes coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were actually launching in an older part of town and really wanted to cast a retro tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by means of creating a company logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs designed for Three Lakes clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the laboratory examination of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a household fun facility in Three Lakes.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Three Lakes travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Three Lakes logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Three Lakes logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members didn’t share his scorn for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral point of views on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo job has it’s share of difficulties, however the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Three Lakes publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a printed book because it is often the initial thing a person views in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems like that in many cases one of the things individuals usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline company based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Three Lakes logo design used for advertising as well as a label style for Vintage Case includes an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this business logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Three Lakes, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to describe precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style produced for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that carried a spirit of tranquility and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a design that did not go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but rather designed a logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the emphasis on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo layout developed for an equine cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed an original brand concept customized to exemplify the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of equines. By having an unique head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily recognizable horse types in the entire world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo style a tiny dining establishment, style includes a modified script typeface which hovers above a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo design for a software program developer the design attributes and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

Evolve logo style produced for a Three Lakes interior developer, layout feature a series of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo style done for Advanced Management Solutions, the characters for letter V and also A in center of the word progressed have been changed to tie straight right into words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Three Lakes logo design project was carried out for a management specialist that helps business leaders to develop into more successful at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Three Lakes logo dsign with an illustration which captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has an area integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually produced for an Three Lakes area farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this particular brand was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to develop a graphic that projects confidence, financial success, and affluence.
Logo design made for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the owner to create a business logo which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
