Winter Park, Florida Logo Design

Every new Winter Park organization understands that they require a logo, yet few new business owners fully are aware of the essential role their business logo will make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo performs better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term influence on the prosperity of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Winter Park, Florida companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand deliberation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and equally emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Winter Park, Florida coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening in an older part of the city and wished to cast a vintage feel without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by creating a symbol design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and also bacteria created for Winter Park, Florida clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory assessment of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable facility in Winter Park, Florida.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - made for Winter Park, Florida traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Winter Park logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Winter Park logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy truly hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his hatred for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo understand how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of hurdles, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Winter Park, Florida publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a published book since it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it seems like that in many cases one of the items consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to confering a feeling of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Winter Park logo style used for marketing and also a label style for Vintage Case features an archaic font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Winter Park, Florida, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually enjoy doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that conveyed a sense of ease and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious route of making simply a stylized orchid but instead created a business logo that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is oftentimes the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the attention on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Las Cafe logo style a little restaurant, style consists of a modified script typeface which floats above a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software application programmer the layout features and famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it represented something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly realized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Winter Park business logo dsign with an image that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really developed for an Winter Park, Florida area farm it was actually created for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of several which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to design an identity that projects trust, financial success, and opulence.

Winter Park Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly dealing with arrowhead and the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the liberty to discover any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo designed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is similar to a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the owner to produce a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
