Americus Logo Design

Virtually every new Americus venture knows they require a logo, however few new business owners entirely recognize the vital role their logo design will play in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo works far better than another. A business logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the growth of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Americus companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle created for a Americus coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an old section of town and really wanted to cast an old-fashioned tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by means of creating a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs created for Americus medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recall in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo layout with a jumping green frog made for a family members fun facility in Americus.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Americus traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the photos they record. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Americus logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Americus logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their logo realize how vital a logo design is for their company so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Americus publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most vital part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it looks like that in many instances one of the items folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a spirit of flight and it was certainly a success.

Americus logo design made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an old typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Americus, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that each and every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dental business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo that communicated a spirit of serenity and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of crafting just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a business logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian horse logo style developed for an equine ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a one-of-a-kind logo concept styled to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. By having an unique head form and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable equine lineages in the world.

Las Coffee shop logo design a little dining establishment, design includes a modified manuscript font which hovers above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo design for a software program developer the style functions and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a location to sell their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Americus logo dsign utilizing an illustration which pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Americus regional farm it was really created for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to generate a brand mark that projects self-confidence, success, and opulence.
Logo made for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is evocative a well-known sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
