STRATEGIES FOR IDENTIFYING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they simply cannot refund the time you commit which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but inevitably a designer can only be judged from the quality of their design work, if the work in their design portfolio doesn’t feature real world samples chances are they will not be able to produce a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to mirror your personal vision for your organization. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how fast they can get paid.

Cartersville LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds develop unforgettable brand identities. We have done branding work for mechanics, educational institutions, heart surgeons, wedding singers, cafes, retailers, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes ImageCo unique compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every brand identity project as though it will be utilized as an electric sign. As a result of our sign first technique our designs can, and have been employed in everything from clothing labels to neon signs. Our sign first method insures that our logos are equally successful whether they are used in television commercials or web applications, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and always remembered regardless of scale or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that truly sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you might have stumbled upon on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are brought on board to perform, we perform in-house. No matter the kind of design project we undertake, business logo, web page, trade show exhibit, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will contract out our client’s projects to agencies located outside the US. When you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the cost of your design project and dictates the terms of how we conduct business.

ASPECTS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Cartersville organization understands that they need a logo, but few start ups thoroughly comprehend the essential role their company logo can perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one logo works better than another. A logo has an immediate and long term impact on the viability of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Cartersville businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not need contemplation, they can be understood in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to store signs a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be ageless and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of marking something to ensure that it could be identified, its foundation originates from the brand branded onto livestock. Nowadays a brand represents basically anything with a motive, regardless if it be profit or politics, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the value of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive sister, they are each from the exact same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest directed at a target market, it’s goal is to create an image that the target market will connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When a person mentions the names Porsche or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and that is what makes people purchase those products. Brand image is why individuals acquire most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can identify with.

Branding Agencies – If you reflect on the origin of the majority of branding companies you’ll find that they are quite often rebranded advertising companies. When somebody claims they are in marketing most individuals will likely have an idea about what they do. However when someone claims “I am in branding”… it just sounds much more impressive, maybe it’s because most people don’t understand what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as mysterious and maybe even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that defines the visual elements of a product or business that influence perceptions. This largely consists of the name, the logo, the product packaging, the different colors used but can likewise consist of audio, illumination, texture, signage, actually anything that can be seen, touched or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a designer that specializes in a type of visual design that helps form the public image of a business, a product or an organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, packaging, and also collateral material such as business cards, stationery, and also brochures. Some identity designers also build websites and user interfaces. The necessary duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of influencing activities, end results as well as perceptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo design of a bike produced for a Cartersville coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an older part of the area and wanted to visualize a vintage vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both tasks via developing a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide and also germs made for Cartersville medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves quite literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family fun center in Cartersville.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - made for Cartersville travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Cartersville logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Cartersville logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however my customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to create their business logo realize how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Cartersville publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most vital part of a printed book given that it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the book store. Regarding a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many instances 1 of the aspects consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Cartersville logo style used for advertising and a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Cartersville, style include an arc with lines converging with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that almost every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a Cartersville hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design that related an atmosphere of peace and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept which did not go the obvious direction of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is in most cases the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the focus on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian equine logo layout developed for a steed ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a distinct company logo design customized to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. By having an identifiable head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the very most immediately identifiable equine types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Cartersville Coffee shop logo design a tiny dining establishment, style consists of a customized manuscript typeface which floats above a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a small dining establishment, design includes a modified manuscript font which hovers above a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design attributes as well as legendary Cartersville component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Advance logo style produced for a Cartersvilleinterior developer, style function a collection of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Cartersville interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who arranges, researches, collaborates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a diverse profession that includes conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, research study, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Cartersville, the characters for letter V as well as A in center of the word progressed have actually been changed to link straight into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Cartersville logo design project was done for a leadership coach that assists business professionals to become more effective at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Cartersville business logo layout including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to sell off their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I designed their Cartersville business logo design along with a graphic which pulls in the attention of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Cartersville company logo style has actually a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t actually designed for an Cartersville area farm it was in reality designed for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to generate a image that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Cartersville Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style feature for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the opportunity to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the first go.

Logo designed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a renowned Cartersville sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to create a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
