East Point Logo Design

Each and every new East Point business understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely recognize the crucial role their logo can perform in their success, or exactly why one logo performs better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the financial success of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help East Point businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require consideration, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a East Point coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older section of the community and wanted to visualize a retro atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by means of developing a business logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria created for East Point medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog designed for a household fun center in East Point.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for East Point traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys through the photos they record. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  East Point logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

East Point logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how important a logo design is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s share of hurdles, however the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for East Point book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most important part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the book shop. Concerning a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems like that in many instances 1 of the items people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

East Point logo design utilized for marketing and a tag layout for Vintage Case includes an archaic font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in East Point, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it seems that every single dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which conveyed a sense of tranquility and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of crafting just a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application designer the style features as well as legendary aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their East Point logo dsign utilizing a graphic that captures the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t actually created for an East Point regional farm it was actually developed for a commodities broker, and this particular business logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to produce a image that projected self-confidence, financial success, and opulence.
Logo design developed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
