Martinez Logo Design

Every new Martinez company understands that they are in need of a logo, however few new business owners fully understand the key role their logo can perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one business logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the prosperity of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Martinez companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Martinez coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an older section of town and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs via creating a trademark concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for Martinez medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a household fun center in Martinez.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Martinez traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather project emotional journeys through the images they record. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo by using the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Martinez logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Martinez logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral point of views on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo job has it’s share of obstacles, however the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Martinez publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems like that in many instances one of the aspects folks often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a sense of air travel and it was surely a success.

Martinez logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label design for Vintage Instance includes an archaic font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this business logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Martinez, style include an arc with lines converging via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design projects considering that it appears that every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo design which related a sense of calmness and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious direction of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the focus on the emotion that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software developer the layout attributes and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Progress logo style created for a Martinez interior developer, design feature a series of red circles that intersect and change the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

This particular Martinez logo design assignment was carried out for a management advisor that assists business professionals to become more effective at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell off their used items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Martinez business logo dsign along with a graphic which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really composed for an Martinez regional farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this particular business logo was one of multiple that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to generate a graphic that projected assurance, effectiveness, and wealth.
Logo design made for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a well-known sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked closely with the business owner to create a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
