Smyrna Logo Design

Each and every new Smyrna company knows they need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly realize the key role their logo design will take in their success, or precisely why one logo design functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the success of a business, choose the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Smyrna businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require deliberation, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle created for a Smyrna coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually launching in an old section of the community and wished to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by designing a sign concept that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as germs created for Smyrna clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and more memorable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog developed for a family fun center in Smyrna.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Smyrna traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Smyrna logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Smyrna logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the character A but the customer, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo understand how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo design job has it’s portion of challenges, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Smyrna publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most essential part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go however it seems like that in many occurrences one of the items people often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

Smyrna logo layout utilized for advertising and also a tag style for Vintage Case includes an antiquated font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Smyrna, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo jobs because it appears that every single dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo that projected an atmosphere of simplicity and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious direction of designing simply a stylized orchid but instead crafted a business logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian horse logo design developed for a steed cattle ranch that specializes in reproducing Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed an original business logo concept tailored to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. With a distinctive head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most easily identifiable horse lineages in the whole world.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a tiny dining establishment, style includes a changed manuscript font which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo design for a software application programmer the style functions and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Smyrna logo design dsign using an illustration which captures the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t really designed for an Smyrna area farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this particular logo was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to generate a brand mark that projects trust, financial success, and luxury.
Logo created for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is similar to a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the proprietor to develop a logo design which worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
