St. Marys Logo Design

Every new St. Marys organization understands that they require a logo, but few entrepreneurs entirely understand the essential role their logo will perform in their financial success, or precisely why one logo functions more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and long term influence on the financial success of a business, choose the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help St. Marys businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a St. Marys coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening up in an old part of town and wanted to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs by means of designing a custom logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for St. Marys clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog designed for a household enjoyable center in St. Marys.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for St. Marys travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  St. Marys logo design but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

St. Marys logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial assessments on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo job possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for St. Marys book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, but it really is the most critical part of a published book since it is ordinarily the initial thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems that in many instances 1 of the items folks tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a feeling of air travel and it was definitely a victory.

St. Marys logo layout used for advertising and marketing and a label layout for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in St. Marys, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design projects because it appears that virtually every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a household nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which carried a sense of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious path of making simply a stylized orchid but rather designed a business logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the attention on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo style for a software developer the style attributes and renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

A logo style featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a location to market their secondhand products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their St. Marys business logo dsign utilizing an illustration which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t actually designed for an St. Marys area farm it was actually designed for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of a handful of that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to generate a brand mark that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo design created for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is reminiscent of a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to create a logo design that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
