TIPS ON DETERMINING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design agency offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not refund the time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but in the end a design firm can only be judged from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not contain real life examples chances are they won’t be able to deliver a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be understood and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to reflect your unique vision for your business. If a logo designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how fast they will get paid.

Union City LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds cultivate memorable brand identities. We have done brand design work for ranchers, educational institutions, heart surgeons, party planners, coffee roasters, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes us unique compared to our contemporaries is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every design as if it will be employed as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first technique our designs can, and have been utilized in everything from garment labels to billboards. Our sign first method guarantees that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently recognizable, understood, and always remembered regardless of size or application.

American Made ★ Design

Something which seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you probably have stumbled upon in Google’s search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are contracted to do, we perform in-house. No matter the kind of design project we undertake, logo design, web page, trade show display, or retail sign, we do not, and never will contract out our client’s projects to companies located outside the USA. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that marks up the price of your project and determines the conditions of how we conduct business.

ASPECTS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

Every new Union City company knows they need a logo, but few new business owners thoroughly grasp the crucial role their logo design can make in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design performs better than another. A business logo has an instant and long term effect on the viability of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Union City companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t need deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to billboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the item or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design should be ageless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark as well as the process of denoting something to ensure that it could be distinguished, its origin comes from the mark branded onto animals. These days a brand represents pretty much anything with an intention, whether it be revenue or government agencies, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of defining the value of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are each from the very same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity contest directed at a specific audience, it’s objective is to produce an image that the target market will relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When someone states the names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can transport us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and sexy . That is brand image and brand image is what makes individuals want those brands. Brand image is why people purchase most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you reflect on the history of a lot of branding agencies you’ll find that they are frequently rebranded advertising agencies. When a person states they are in advertising and marketing lots of people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a kind of visual design that helps form the image of a company, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, and collateral material such as cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some identity designers also design sites as well as user interfaces. The vital function of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and a psychological tone with the objective of affecting activities, results and also perceptions.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Union City coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually launching in an older section of the community and hoped to project a retro vibe without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks by means of developing a business logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Union City medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that studies the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Union City.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - created for Union City traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Union City logo design but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Union City logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his hatred for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design understand how essential a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Union City book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, however it really is the most crucial part of a printed book since it is usually the first thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it looks like that in many instances one of the items individuals usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest new venture commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a spirit of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Union City logo design utilized for advertising and also a tag style for Vintage Case features an antiquated font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this brand concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could be used for every thing from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Union City, style include an arc with lines converging via it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects considering that it seems that virtually every dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style developed for a Union City hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that conveyed a feeling of calmness and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a design that didn’t go the obvious route of creating just a stylized orchid but instead created a logo design which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is frequently the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the attention on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Arabian equine logo layout produced for an equine ranch that concentrates on reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind company logo design customized to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of equines. By having a different head form and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately recognizable horse lineages in the world.

Las Cafe, A Union City Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, layout contains a customized manuscript font style which floats above a team of ornate lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo layout a little dining establishment, design consists of a changed script font style which floats over a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Logo style for a software application designer the style attributes and also legendary Union City aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Evolve logo layout developed for a Union Cityinterior developer, design function a collection of red circles that intersect and also replace the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Union City interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a professional who prepares, investigates, coordinates, and oversees such ventures. Interior design is a diverse profession that consists of conceptual development, area planning, site evaluations, programming, analysis, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Union City, the characters for letter V and also A in center of the word advanced have been modified to link straight into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Union City logo design job was performed for a leadership consultant that assists business leaders to develop into more effective at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Union City business logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Union City logo design with an image which garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this Union City company logo design has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually designed for an Union City area farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this particular logo was one of multiple which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to develop a image that projected esteem, success, and affluence.

Union City Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly facing arrow as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where exactly the target is. Luckily, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design developed for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font style that is evocative a famous Union City sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to develop a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
