STRATEGIES FOR FINDING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design company presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can’t reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some designers talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be evaluated from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not contain real life samples odds are they won’t be able to produce a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s goal is to be understood and remembered, and it’s goal is to mirror your personal vision for your business. If a logo designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how fast they can get paid.

Woodstock LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs develop memorable brands. We have performed brand identity design work for mechanics, educational institutions, heart surgeons, wedding singers, restaurants, retailers, and practically every other kind of business concern you can envision. What makes us different compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as if it will be utilized as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first method our designs can, and have been utilized in everything from fashion labels to neon signs. Our sign first technique guarantees that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in TV commercials or website apps, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and always remembered regardless of size or use.

American Made ★ Design

The one difference that truly sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you probably have come across online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are brought on board to do, we do ourselves. Regardless of the type of project we undertake, brand identity design, website, trade show exhibit, or electrical sign, we do not, and never will job out our client’s projects to organizations based outside the USA. Whenever you phone us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that marks up the cost of your project and determines the conditions of how we do business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Woodstock organization realizes that they need a logo, but few start ups fully comprehend the key role their business logo can make in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo functions far better than another. A logo has an instant and lasting impact on the financial success of a business, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Woodstock companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from label to retail signs a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

understanding branding

Brand – It is a verb and also a noun, it’s an identifying mark as well as the act of denoting something to make sure that it could be distinguished, its foundation comes from the brand burned onto livestock. These days a brand indicates practically anything with a motive, regardless if it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an inherent aspect of defining the value of something in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s attractive sister, they are both from the very same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest aimed at a target market, it’s goal is to produce an image that the target market will relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When someone states the brand names Ferrari or Corvette what we think about is their brand image, it’s a picture that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can deliver us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals want those brands. Brand image is why individuals get most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the history of most branding firms you’ll discover that they are often re-branded advertising companies. When a person says they are in advertising most individuals will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that specializes in a type of visual design that helps form the perception of a firm, a product or a business organization. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, and collateral products such as cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some identity designers also develop sites and also user interfaces. The important duty of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, results as well as perceptions.

select logos & signs

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Woodstock coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an old part of the area and wished to visualize an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled each of the jobs via creating a company logo concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria developed for Woodstock medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory examination of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Woodstock.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Woodstock travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead project emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness which can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Woodstock logo but also to illustrate the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Woodstock logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced viewpoints on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to design their logo design understand how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo job possesses it’s portion of difficulties, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Woodstock publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most critical part of a published book because it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches changed to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go but it seems like that in many occurrences one of the things folks tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a spirit of flight and it was definitely a success.

Woodstock logo style used for advertising and marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Woodstock, design consist of an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 personalities startled in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a Woodstock hair style studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that projected a sense of relaxation and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious course of designing just a stylized orchid but rather created a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is in most cases the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the focus on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design developed for an equine ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo developed a one-of-a-kind creative logo design customized to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of horses. With a distinctive head form and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately identifiable equine breeds in the whole world.

Las Cafe, A Woodstock restaurant logo style a small dining establishment, design consists of a customized manuscript font which floats over a team of ornate lines and also dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Cafe logo design a tiny restaurant, style includes a modified manuscript font which hovers above a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software developer the style functions and renowned Woodstock element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it meant something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance behind a logo design is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

Develop logo style produced for a Woodstockindoor developer, layout feature a collection of red circles that converge and replace the letter O in the middle of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Woodstock interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who plans, explores, coordinates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a diverse profession that consists of conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, research, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Woodstock, the characters for letter V and also A in center of words progressed have been customized to connect directly right into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Woodstock logo design assignment was performed for a management expert that helps business professionals to become more efficient at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Woodstock business logo design including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Woodstock logo design design using a graphic that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Woodstock company logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo design wasn’t really designed for an Woodstock area farm it was in reality designed for a products broker, and this particular trademark was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was actually to produce a image that projected esteem, success, and prosperity.

Woodstock Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style function for outwardly encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the freedom to discover any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Thankfully, in this particular case, I hit a bullseye with the 1st go.

Logo designed for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a famous Woodstock sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked directly with the owner to design a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
