TIPS FOR PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t refund the time you commit which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Some design firms talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be judged from the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not contain actual samples odds are they will never be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s goal is to mirror your unique vision for your organization. If a designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Kaneohe LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping small business owners cultivate memorable brand identities. We’ve performed brand identity design work for mechanics, educational institutions, heart surgeons, party planners, bistros, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can imagine. What makes ImageCo unique compared to typical graphic designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every brand identity project as though it will be used as an electric sign. Because of our sign first approach our identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to billboards. Our sign first technique insures that our logo designs are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or website apps, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered regardless of scale or use.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which seriously sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you may have come across online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are hired to do, we perform in-house. Regardless of the type of design project we take on, brand identity design, website, trade show exhibit, or retail sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our client’s work to organizations located outside the USA. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a go-between that increases the price of your design project and determines the terms of how we conduct business.

QUALITIES OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Every new Kaneohe entrepreneur understands that they probably need a logo, but few start-ups fully recognize the key role their organization’s logo can perform in their financial success, or precisely why one business logo works more effectively than another. A logo design has an instant and sustaining effect on the viability of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Kaneohe businesses prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from label to retail signs a scalable business logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the item or company they brand.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It is a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the process of noting something to ensure that it can be identified, its foundation comes from the brand branded onto livestock. These days a brand symbolizes virtually anything with an objective, whether it be profit or government agencies, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the worth of something in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive sister, they are all from the same family, the distinction being that marketing and advertising are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a strategic popularity competition aimed at a target market, it’s goal is to create a mental image that the audience will relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When a person says the names Lamborghini or Mustang what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes people want those products. Brand image is why individuals buy specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the beginning of a lot of branding companies you’ll discover that they are quite often rebranded marketing and advertising companies. When a person says they are in marketing the majority of people will likely have an idea about what they do. Yet when someone claims “I am in branding”… it simply seems more impressive, maybe it’s because lots of people don’t know what it suggests to be in branding so it comes off as more mysterious and maybe even sexy.

Brand Identity – Is an inclusive term that defines the visual components of a product or agency that influence understandings. This largely consists of the name, the logo design, the product packaging, the colors utilized yet can additionally consist of sound, illumination, texture, signage, just about anything that can be seen, felt or listened to become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that focuses on a type of visual design which helps form the image of a company, a product or a company. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, packaging, and also collateral products such as business cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some visual designers also design sites and software interfaces. The vital function of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and an emotional tone with the goal of influencing actions, results and understandings.

Featured signs/logos

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Kaneohe coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an older part of the community and hoped to visualize a vintage atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs by designing a sign design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide as well as bacteria developed for Kaneohe medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory examination of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo design with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a family fun center in Kaneohe.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental professionals, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Kaneohe traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something comparable to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Kaneohe logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Kaneohe logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I really savor and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his scorn for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral assessments on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo comprehend how crucial a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of hurdles, but the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Kaneohe publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most necessary part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the first thing a person views in the book shop. For a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with benches customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it looks like that in many occurrences 1 of the traits folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Kaneohe logo style utilized for advertising as well as a tag design for Vintage Instance features an antiquated font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this brand concept I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Kaneohe, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really enjoy doing dental care logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that describes itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design produced for a Kaneohe hair layout workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a logo that projected a sense of calmness and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious path of crafting merely a stylized orchid but instead crafted a company logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is generally the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Arabian steed logo design created for an equine cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a unique custom logo design tailored to display the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. With a distinctive head shape and very high tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the very most quite easily recognizable horse types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Kaneohe restaurant logo style a tiny dining establishment, design consists of a modified script font style which floats above a team of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little dining establishment, design contains a modified manuscript font which floats over a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software designer the style features as well as renowned Kaneohe component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo design is just as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

Develop logo style created for a Kaneoheindoor developer, design attribute a series of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Kaneohe interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who arranges, explores, coordinates, and manages such ventures. Interior design is a diverse occupation that consists of conceptual development, area planning, site examinations, programming, study, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction supervision, and implementation of the design.

logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Kaneohe, the characters for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have actually been changed to link directly right into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Kaneohe logo design project was undertaken for a management coach that aids business leaders to become more successful at supervising people, expectations, and profitability.

A Kaneohe business logo style including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to market their used items to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Kaneohe business logo design utilizing a graphic which pulls in the interest of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Kaneohe company logo design has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Kaneohe area farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of many that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to generate an identity that projected esteem, financial success, and prosperity.

Kaneohe Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design function for ostensibly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they desired, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo designed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a popular Kaneohe sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to design a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
