Kapolei Logo Design

Virtually every new Kapolei venture understands that they need a logo, however few new business owners fully realize the crucial role their company logo will take in their success, or exactly why one logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and long-term influence on the prosperity of a company, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Kapolei companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand deliberation, they can be realized in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Kapolei coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an old section of town and wanted to cast an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as boring or low energy. I accomplished each of the jobs by developing a custom logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs made for Kapolei medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine that works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog developed for a family fun facility in Kapolei.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Kapolei travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Kapolei logo but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Kapolei logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get honest viewpoints on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Kapolei book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most essential part of a published book since it is often the primary thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems that in many cases 1 of the aspects consumers usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was surely a victory.

Kapolei logo style made use of for marketing and also a label layout for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, which looked to be vintage cases. For this logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Kapolei, layout consist of an arc with lines converging through it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs because it seems that each and every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dental logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 personalities startled in height to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to describe precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo that projected a spirit of serenity and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of crafting simply a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo design that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead placed the focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo design a little restaurant, style contains a modified script font style which floats over a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout attributes and also legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Develop logo layout produced for a Kapolei indoor developer, style function a series of red circles that intersect and also replace the letter O in the center of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo style featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to market their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Kapolei business logo dsign utilizing a graphic which captures the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t really produced for an Kapolei regional farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this brand was one of multiple that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to design an identity that projected esteem, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo made for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the owner to develop a business logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
