POINTERS ON PICKING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to keep in mind that they can’t reimburse the time you commit which is much more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be determined by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not feature real world samples chances are they will not be able to deliver a top quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and remembered, and it’s objective is to reflect your unique vision for your organization. If a designer isn’t focused on realizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how fast they will get paid.

Waipahu LOGO DESIGN

For over 20 years ImageCo has been helping entrepreneurs grow notable brands. We have performed logo design work for builders, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, diners, retail stores, and virtually every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes ImageCo unique compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as though it will be utilized as an electrical sign. Because of our sign first method our brand identity designs can, and have been employed in everything from fashion labels to billboards. Our sign first approach insures that our logos are equally effective whether they are used in television commercials or website applications, they are consistently recognizable, comprehended, and always remembered irrespective of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

The thing that seriously sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you probably have encountered on-line, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every project we are contracted to perform, we do ourselves. Regardless of the type of design project we undertake, logo design, website, trade show booth, or electric sign, we do not, and never will job out our client’s work to companies located outside the US. Whenever you contact us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the price of your project and determines the conditions of how my customers and I conduct business.

CHARACTERISTICS OF A GOOD LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Waipahu organization knows they need a logo, but few start-ups thoroughly recognize the vital role their business logo can perform in their success, or exactly why one logo functions better than another. A logo design has a critical and long-term impact on the growth of a company, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Waipahu companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to store signs a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It is both a verb and also a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the process of marking something to ensure that it could be identified, its origin originates from the brand burned onto animals. Today a brand indicates pretty much anything with a motive, whether it be earnings or politics, a brand is an innate aspect of specifying the value of something in the customer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s sexy sister, they are all from the exact same family, the difference being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest targeted at a specific audience, it’s objective is to produce a mental image that the audience can relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing and identity design. When someone states the names Lamborghini or Mustang what we consider is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a vehicle with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes people want those brands. Brand image is why people purchase most things, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that people can relate to.

Branding Agencies – If you look back at the history of most branding companies you’ll discover that they are often rebranded marketing and advertising companies. When somebody states they are in advertising and marketing many people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that concentrates on a kind of visual design which helps form the perception of a firm, a product or a business. Brand identity designers develop logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as cards, stationery, as well as brochures. Some visual designers also develop sites and also software interfaces. The important role of a brand identity designer is to create the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the goal of influencing actions, outcomes and perceptions.

select SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Waipahu coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were actually launching in an old section of the city and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned tone without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by creating a custom logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscope slide as well as bacteria designed for Waipahu medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which analyzes the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that works with the clinical examination of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog created for a household fun center in Waipahu.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Waipahu travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The thought behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Waipahu logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Waipahu logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t even know so as to get objective judgements on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo design recognize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the final result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of hurdles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Waipahu publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most necessary part of a published book due to the fact that it is often the very first thing a person views in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Waipahu logo design used for advertising and marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this brand design I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Waipahu, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it appears that virtually every dental professional features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if dining establishments approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a Waipahu hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo that related a sense of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is more often than not the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Arabian horse logo style produced for a horse cattle ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a unique creative logo design tailored to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian breed of horses. With a different head shape and higher tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily recognizable horse breeds in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Waipahu Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, layout includes a modified manuscript typeface which hovers over a group of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a tiny restaurant, layout contains a changed script font style which floats over a group of ornate lines as well as dots.

Logo layout for a software designer the style attributes and also renowned Waipahu element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

Advance logo style produced for a Waipahuinterior developer, design feature a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Waipahu interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who prepares, researches, collaborates, and oversees such tasks. Interior design is a diverse profession that involves conceptual development, area planning, site evaluations, programming, investigation, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and implementation of the design.

logo layout provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Waipahu, the characters for letter V and A in center of the word advanced have been modified to connect straight into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Waipahu logo design project was completed for a management expert that enables business professionals to become more effective at supervising people, expectations, and productivity.

A Waipahu business logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to sell off their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Waipahu business logo design using an image which captures the interest of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.

Logo design MQ ranches, this Waipahu company logo style has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t really created for an Waipahu regional farm it was actually developed for a products broker, and this logo design was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to create a graphic that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and opulence.

Waipahu Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly dealing with arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the flexibility to delve into any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo design created for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font that is evocative a renowned Waipahu sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking where I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
