Lewiston Logo Design

Each and every new Lewiston organization knows they need a logo, but few new business owners fully grasp the essential role their organization logo can perform in their becoming successful, or why one logo design performs better than another. A company logo has an instant and long-term impact on the success of a business, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Lewiston companies succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Lewiston coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were opening up in an old part of the city and wanted to visualize a nostalgic feel without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I achieved both jobs by means of creating a logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscope slide and bacteria designed for Lewiston clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog created for a household fun facility in Lewiston.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Lewiston traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather communicate emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lewiston logo but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Lewiston logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his scorn for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased judgements on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their business logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the end result. Every logo project possesses it’s share of hurdles, but the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Lewiston publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most vital part of a printed book since it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book shop. For a publishing company, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a victory.

Lewiston logo layout utilized for advertising and also a tag layout for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be older cases. For this business logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Lewiston, design include an arc with lines converging with it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs considering that it appears that almost every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dentistry business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain precisely how people should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a logo which conveyed a feeling of simplicity and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design that did not go the obvious route of creating simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a company logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is frequently the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software program programmer the design attributes and also renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the substance behind a company logo is just as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Lewiston business logo dsign utilizing an image that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that calls to mind the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has actually a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t really produced for an Lewiston area farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this particular logo design was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to develop a graphic that projects self-confidence, financial success, and wealth.
Logo design created for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is reminiscent of a famous sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the business owner to develop a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
