Algonquin Logo Design

Each and every new Algonquin business understands that they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly realize the vital role their business logo can perform in their financial success, or precisely why one logo performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and sustaining impact on the financial success of a company, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Algonquin businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not demand scrutiny, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Algonquin coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were opening in an older part of the city and hoped to cast an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks via creating a company logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Algonquin medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that examines the root causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the field of medicine which works with the laboratory assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more unforgettable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family enjoyable center in Algonquin.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - designed for Algonquin traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they frequently tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Algonquin logo but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Algonquin logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but the customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his scorn for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get objective opinions on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo recognize how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of obstacles, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, design for Algonquin publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped segment of real estate to work with, but it really is the most crucial part of a published book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the very first thing a person sees in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will ever get to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it looks like that in many instances one of the traits individuals tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Algonquin logo style utilized for advertising and marketing and a label layout for Vintage Situation features an old font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Algonquin, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design projects considering that it appears that each and every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dental practitioners do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I actually love doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout developed for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which related an atmosphere of tranquility and class for their new hair salon. I created a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a company logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is more often than not the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the importance on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo style for a software program designer the style attributes and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Algonquin logo dsign using an image that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Algonquin area farm it was in reality developed for an investments broker, and this logo design was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to create a brand mark that projected assurance, success, and luxury.
Logo designed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript font style that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a business logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
