TIPS FOR DETERMINING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo design is an investment in both your time and your money so whenever a design firm offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they simply cannot reimburse the time you invest which is much more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but ultimately a design agency can only be determined by the quality of their design work, if the work in their portfolio does not feature actual examples chances are they won’t be able to produce a quality logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to mirror your unique vision for your company. If a logo designer is not focused on fulfilling your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how quickly they will get paid.

Ashburn LOGO DESIGN

For over 2 decades ImageCo has been helping small business owners cultivate notable brands. We’ve performed branding work for ranchers, universities, diamond miners, party planners, restaurants, retailers, and practically every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes ImageCo unique compared to traditional designers is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we undertake every branding project as though it will be utilized as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first strategy our identity designs can, and have been used in everything from garment labels to neon signs. Our sign first technique ensures that our logos are equally effective whether they are used in television commercials or web headers, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and always remembered irrespective of scale or purpose.

American Made ★ Design

Something that really sets ImageCo apart from other design firms that you probably have encountered online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every design project we are brought on board to do, we do in-house. Irrespective of the type of project we take on, logo design, web page, trade show display, or commercial sign, we do not, and never will farm out our client’s work to agencies located outside the US. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the individual that answers the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that marks up the cost of your project and determines the conditions of how my customers and I conduct business.

ASPECTS OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

Nearly every new Ashburn organization understands that they require a logo, however few start-ups fully comprehend the crucial role their company logo will perform in their financial success, or precisely why one logo functions far better than another. A logo design has a critical and long term impact on the viability of a company, select the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Ashburn businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t need deliberation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from label to posters a scalable logo design will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel personal, and they are suitable for the product or business they brand.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be timeless and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s a verb and a noun, it’s an identifying mark and the act of denoting something to ensure that it could be recognized, its genesis originates from the mark burned onto livestock. Nowadays a brand represents basically anything with an objective, whether it be revenue or political parties, a brand is an innate aspect of defining the worth of something in the public’s mind.

Branding – Is kind of like advertising and marketing’s attractive cousin, they are each from the same family, the difference being that marketing and advertising have to do with making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest aimed at a target market, it’s goal is to develop an image that the target market can relate to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and identity design. When a person says the brand names Porsche or Mustang what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, elegance, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals purchase those brands. Brand image is why individuals acquire specific brands, from Pepsi to Coke Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the origin of a lot of branding agencies you’ll discover that they are often rebranded marketing and advertising firms. When a person claims they are in advertising and marketing many people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or heard are part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a designer that concentrates on a type of visual design which helps shape the image of a company, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers create logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as business cards, stationery, as well as pamphlets. Some visual designers also design websites and software interfaces. The important function of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the objective of influencing activities, results and also assumptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Ashburn coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening in an old part of the community and wanted to cast a nostalgic vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled each of the tasks by means of developing a logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and germs designed for Ashburn clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of healthcare that works with the laboratory examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Normally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents rather literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more appealing, more focus grabbing and even more memorable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members fun center in Ashburn.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more dynamic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and also a tree - created for Ashburn travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the photos they record. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I made an effort to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Ashburn logo design but also to reveal the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Ashburn logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design jobs that I take on I genuinely savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however my client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family members didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to talk about it with colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective assessments on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their logo comprehend how essential a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of obstacles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Ashburn publication publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most crucial part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the book store. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that purchase actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects consumers often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller startup commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of airline flight and it was surely a victory.

Ashburn logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and a tag design for Vintage Case includes an archaic font layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for music instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Ashburn, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo made for a family members nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a Ashburn hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which projected a feeling of simplicity and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious direction of making just a stylized orchid but instead created a company logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the main focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian steed logo design developed for a horse cattle ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian show horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo crafted a one-of-a-kind organization logo concept fashioned to manifest the unique physical traits of the Arabian pedigree of horses. By having a different head form and very high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly quite easily identifiable equine types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Ashburn Coffee shop logo design a small restaurant, design consists of a changed manuscript font style which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, design consists of a modified script typeface which hovers over a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software application designer the style functions and also famous Ashburn element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it represents.

Develop logo layout produced for a Ashburninterior developer, design function a series of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Ashburn interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is a person who plans, explores, coordinates, and manages such ventures. Interior design is a multifaceted profession that includes conceptual development, space planning, location examinations, programming, investigation, corresponding with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo style done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Ashburn, the personalities for letter V as well as A in center of words advanced have been customized to connect directly right into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Ashburn logo design project was done for a leadership advisor that aids business professionals to develop into more efficient at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Ashburn business logo style including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Ashburn logo design design along with a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo style MQ farms, this Ashburn company logo layout has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo concept wasn’t really composed for an Ashburn regional farm it was in reality developed for a products broker, and this creative logo was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to create a image that projected self-assurance, success, and wealth.

Ashburn Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo style function for outwardly encountering arrow and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design they wanted, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the freedom to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this particular instance, I nailed a bullseye with the 1st try.

Logo designed for the use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font that is reminiscent of a popular Ashburn sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
