POINTERS ON PICKING THE RIGHT LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency offers a money back guarantee try to bear in mind that they can not refund the amount of time you commit which is eminently more valuable than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many designers talk a good game but in the end a design firm can only be judged by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio doesn’t feature real life samples odds are they will not be able to deliver a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s objective is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s purpose is to mirror your unique vision for your business. If a designer isn’t focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are really focused on is how fast they can get paid.

Bolingbrook LOGO DESIGN

For over two decades ImageCo has been helping start ups and entrepreneurs establish unforgettable brands. We’ve performed branding work for mechanics, colleges, diamond miners, party planners, restaurants, retailers, and just about every other kind of business concern you can think of. What makes us unique compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every logo design project as if it will be used as an electrical sign. As a result of our sign first method our identity designs can, and have been used in everything from fashion labels to electrical signs. Our sign first approach guarantees that our logo designs are equally effective whether they are used in television commercials or web applications, they are consistently identifiable, understood, and remembered no matter of size or function.

American Made ★ Design

The thing which really sets ImageCo apart from many of the design agencies that you might have stumbled upon online, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that absolutely every project we are enlisted to perform, we perform ourselves. Irrespective of the type of project we accept, logo, website, trade show exhibition, or retail sign, we do not, and never will contract out our customer’s projects to 3rd parties located outside the USA. Whenever you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the person that picks up the phone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not an agent that increases the price of your project and imposes the terms of how my customers and I conduct business.

QUALITIES OF AN EFFECTIVE LOGO DESIGN

Every new Bolingbrook company realizes that they probably need a logo, but few start ups fully understand the key role their business logo will perform in their becoming successful, or precisely why one business logo works more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and long term impact on the financial success of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Bolingbrook companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t need deliberation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from clothing labels to store signs a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel right, and they are suitable for the item or business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo needs to be enduring and should feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

understand your brand

Brand – It’s both a verb and also a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the act of noting something so that it can be recognized, its foundation comes from the brand branded onto animals. Today a brand represents virtually anything with an objective, regardless of whether it be earnings or government agencies, a brand is an intrinsic aspect of specifying the worth of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like marketing and advertising’s sexy sister, they are each from the exact same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing are about making a promise and branding’s objective is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest aimed at a target market, it’s objective is to produce a mental image that the target market can identify with.

Brand Image – An image planted and cultivated through advertising and marketing as well as identity design. When someone states the names Porsche or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of a car with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the image we have (or at least I have) is of freedom, beauty, of something dangerous and unique . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals want those brands. Brand image is why individuals purchase specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can identify with.

Branding Firms – If you reflect on the history of a lot of branding companies you’ll find that they are often re-branded marketing and advertising firms. When a person says they are in marketing most people will likely have a preconceived notion about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, touched or listened to belong to a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designer
– A brand identity designer is a graphic designer that specializes in a kind of visual design that helps shape the image of a company, a product or an institution. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, sign designs, product packaging, and also collateral products such as cards, stationery, and also pamphlets. Some visual designers also develop web sites and software interfaces. The important role of a brand identity designer is to develop the visual cues and a psychological tone with the objective of affecting activities, results and understandings.

select logos & signs

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Bolingbrook coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an older section of the area and hoped to visualize a nostalgic feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved the two jobs via creating a symbol concept that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and bacteria developed for Bolingbrook clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine which deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, however it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable center in Bolingbrook.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a few springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - developed for Bolingbrook traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I made an effort to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Bolingbrook logo but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Bolingbrook logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of logo design projects that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest viewpoints on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they adored the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s share of difficulties, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Bolingbrook book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, yet it is the most vital part of a printed book given that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the opportunity they will ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences one of the aspects folks usually tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a spirit of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Bolingbrook logo layout used for advertising as well as a tag design for Vintage Case features an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Bolingbrook, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The intention of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a Bolingbrook hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo which conveyed a feeling of serenity and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of making merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is usually the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the attention on the feeling that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian steed logo style created for a steed ranch that concentrates on breeding Arabian program steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo designed a distinct business logo design styled to embody the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of horses. By having a different head shape and higher tail carriage, the Arabian is one of the highly easily recognizable equine breeds in the world.

Las Cafe, A Bolingbrook restaurant logo layout a small dining establishment, layout contains a modified script font which hovers over a team of ornate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo style a little restaurant, layout contains a changed script font style which hovers above a team of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software designer the design features and also famous Bolingbrook element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance behind a logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

Develop logo layout produced for a Bolingbrookindoor designer, style feature a series of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Bolingbrook interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is an individual who plans, investigates, coordinates, and manages such tasks. Interior design is a diverse occupation that includes conceptual development, area planning, site inspections, programming, analysis, interacting with the stakeholders of a project, construction management, and execution of the design.

logo style provided for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Bolingbrook, the characters for letter V and also A in center of the word advanced have been changed to tie directly into words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Bolingbrook logo design assignment was performed for a management guide that enables business professionals to become more effective at handling people, expectations, and productivity.

A Bolingbrook business logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a place to market their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts.

I created their Bolingbrook logo design design using an image that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.

Logo design MQ farms, this Bolingbrook company logo layout has actually a field integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo idea wasn’t really developed for an Bolingbrook regional farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to design a brand mark that projected assurance, financial success, and luxury.

Bolingbrook Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design function for ostensibly dealing with arrow and the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the flexibility to explore any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of understanding where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design made for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is evocative a well-known Bolingbrook sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to create a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
