Burbank, Illinois Logo Design

Nearly every new Burbank business realizes that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs entirely understand the vital role their company logo will make in their becoming successful, or exactly why one business logo performs better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term influence on the growth of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Burbank, Illinois companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Burbank, Illinois coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were opening up in an older section of the community and wanted to visualize an old-fashioned tone without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks by designing a trademark concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as germs developed for Burbank, Illinois clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which examines the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory examination of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog developed for a family members fun facility in Burbank, Illinois.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental practices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Burbank, Illinois traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I think it is a niche profession due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Burbank logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Burbank logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this particular breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced point of views on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo design recognize how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo project possesses it’s portion of hurdles, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Burbank, Illinois book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a published book since it is usually the primary thing a person sees in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart yet it seems that in many occurrences one of the aspects folks usually tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a feeling of flight and it was definitely a success.

Burbank logo layout utilized for advertising and marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Instance includes an antiquated typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be vintage cases. For this brand design I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Burbank, Illinois, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it appears that every single dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family unit with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo design created for a hair design studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that projected a sense of tranquility and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of making just a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo design which suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is generally the incorrect route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the importance on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software application designer the design features and famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the substance supporting a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a spot to sell their pre-owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Burbank logo dsign utilizing an illustration which pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo layout has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo idea wasn’t actually developed for an Burbank, Illinois area farm it was in reality designed for an investments broker, and this particular company logo was one of several which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to generate a graphic that projected confidence, success, and prosperity.

Burbank Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo layout function for externally dealing with arrowhead as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the freedom to investigate any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I hit a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo design created for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is evocative a popular sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a business logo that worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
