Crystal Lake, Illinois Logo Design

Nearly every new Crystal Lake organization understands that they require a logo, however few new business owners fully realize the pivotal role their company logo can take in their financial success, or precisely why one logo functions better than another. A business logo has an instant and lasting influence on the success of a business, pick the correct one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Crystal Lake, Illinois businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle developed for a Crystal Lake, Illinois coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually opening up in an old section of the area and wished to cast a nostalgic vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both jobs via creating a company logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and germs developed for Crystal Lake, Illinois medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping green frog designed for a family members enjoyable facility in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Crystal Lake, Illinois traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to use negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they frequently tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I tried to do something the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Crystal Lake logo design but also to show the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Crystal Lake logo design with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I truly savor and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to share it with colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the worthiness of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire an expert to design their business logo comprehend how crucial a logo design is for their company so they are much more vested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Crystal Lake, Illinois publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, however it really is the most vital part of a printed book due to the fact that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever have to spotlight their product and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many cases 1 of the items folks often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to confering a spirit of airline flight and it was definitely a success.

Crystal Lake logo style used for advertising and marketing and a label design for Vintage Instance includes an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that looked to be much older cases. For this custom logo design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old-fashioned feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a website to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Crystal Lake, Illinois, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects because it seems that virtually every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really enjoy doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design made for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo which communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout developed for a hair design workshop including a script font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo that communicated a feeling of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious course of making simply a stylized orchid but instead crafted a logo design which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured into the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is in most cases the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to project to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo design for a software program developer the style attributes as well as iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it intimated something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo style including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to market their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Crystal Lake logo design dsign with a graphic which captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that calls to mind the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo concept wasn’t really created for an Crystal Lake, Illinois regional farm it was really designed for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to design a graphic that projected esteem, effectiveness, and luxury.

Crystal Lake Logo design for a nonprofit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally encountering arrowhead and the arrowheads indicate that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to delve into any concept that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye without knowing where the target is. Fortunately, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo developed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is evocative a popular sporting activities team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to create a logo design that worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
