Elmhurst, Illinois Logo Design

Virtually every new Elmhurst company understands that they require a logo, however few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the vital role their logo design can play in their success, or why one logo functions more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the prosperity of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Elmhurst, Illinois businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be comprehended in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle created for a Elmhurst, Illinois coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old section of the community and wished to project a retro atmosphere without coming across as boring or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks by means of developing a company logo concept that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and germs designed for Elmhurst, Illinois medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which examines the causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare that deals with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I recall in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be overly literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more interest grabbing and even more memorable.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family fun center in Elmhurst, Illinois.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, and a tree - created for Elmhurst, Illinois traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they oftentimes share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be revealed with just words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Elmhurst logo design but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Elmhurst logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get neutral assessments on the value of a concept. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their business so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Elmhurst, Illinois book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most important part of a published book since it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This three color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart but it seems like that in many instances 1 of the aspects people often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a good sense of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Elmhurst logo style used for advertising and a label design for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned typeface style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this logo design I strove to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Elmhurst, Illinois, layout consist of an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can be one of the most difficult logo design projects because it seems that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to company marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the very same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really really love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize exactly how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If you have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which carried a sense of serenity and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious direction of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the concept with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is usually the wrong course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the main focus on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Arabian steed logo layout produced for a steed ranch that focuses on breeding Arabian program equines.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Coffee shop logo style a small restaurant, layout consists of a changed script font style which floats over a group of luxuriant lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software program designer the layout attributes as well as iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a bridge between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it intimated something to the owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the company it stands for.

A logo layout including an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell off their used equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Elmhurst logo dsign along with an image which grabs the interest of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo layout has a field incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t really produced for an Elmhurst, Illinois regional farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this particular logo design was one of many that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to create a image that projected self-assurance, financial success, and wealth.

Elmhurst Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style function for ostensibly dealing with arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what type of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where the target is. Luckily, in this particular case, I struck a bullseye with the 1st shot.

Logo made for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is reminiscent of a well-known sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked closely with the owner to produce a business logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
