Homewood Logo Design

Each and every new Homewood venture realizes that they need a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully understand the pivotal role their business logo can make in their financial success, or precisely why one logo performs more effectively than another. A company logo has a critical and sustaining effect on the financial success of a company, go with the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the longevity of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Homewood businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require deliberation, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Homewood coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an older section of the area and wished to visualize an old-fashioned feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished both tasks via developing a logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide as well as germs designed for Homewood medical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, however it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more captivating, more interest grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a household fun center in Homewood.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a path, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Homewood traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather project emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they often share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Homewood logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Homewood logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this particular type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get neutral judgements on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo realize how essential a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo design project possesses it’s share of hurdles, however the biggest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Homewood publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, however it is the most essential part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will likely ever have to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go but it seems that in many cases 1 of the aspects people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a good sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Homewood logo style used for advertising and marketing as well as a tag style for Vintage Case includes an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be vintage cases. For this brand design I attempted to come up with a logo that offered a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo developed for an orthodontist in Homewood, design include an arc with lines intersecting with it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo jobs considering that it seems that virtually every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a specific area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be far too literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe precisely how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout studio featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that related a sense of contentment and connection for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious direction of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design that suggested a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is more often than not the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the importance on the perception that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo design a tiny restaurant, layout contains a customized script font style which hovers over a group of luxuriant lines as well as dots.

Logo style for a software program programmer the design functions as well as iconic aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a business logo is equally as important as how it serves the business it represents.

Advance logo style produced for a Homewood interior developer, style function a collection of red circles that converge as well as change the letter O in the center of the logo style.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

logo style provided for Advanced Management Solutions, the personalities for letter V and A in center of the word advanced have actually been changed to connect directly into the words below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Homewood logo design project was performed for a leadership consultant that assists business leaders to develop into more effective at overseeing people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo design including an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a spot to market their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Homewood logo design dsign utilizing a graphic which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo design has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t actually composed for an Homewood regional farm it was actually created for an investments broker, and this business logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was really to produce a brand mark that projects assurance, success, and prosperity.
Logo developed for making use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted loads of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the owner to develop a logo design which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
