Lake Zurich Logo Design

Virtually every new Lake Zurich venture understands that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners entirely grasp the vital role their company logo can perform in their success, or exactly why one logo design performs better than another. A logo design has a critical and lasting impact on the growth of a business, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Lake Zurich businesses prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require scrutiny, they can be realized in just a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any sort of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Lake Zurich coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffeehouse were launching in an old section of the community and wanted to cast a nostalgic feel without appearing as stodgy or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks via developing a logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide as well as bacteria designed for Lake Zurich clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that investigates the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare that deals with the laboratory examination of samples of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping green frog created for a household enjoyable facility in Lake Zurich.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - made for Lake Zurich travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather project emotional experiences through the images they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be communicated with mere words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lake Zurich logo design but also to show the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Lake Zurich logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to share it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased point of views on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they loved the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their business logo comprehend how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of difficulties, but the largest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, style for Lake Zurich publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most crucial part of a printed book considering that it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the book store. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the opportunity they will ever have to publicize their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the things folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle air service located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a success.

Lake Zurich logo layout made use of for marketing and a tag style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be much older cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Lake Zurich, layout consist of an arc with lines converging via it to imply metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs because it seems that every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logos would be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dental care logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters surprised in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair design studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that projected a feeling of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I came up with a design which did not go the obvious direction of creating merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design which implied a flower in the pattern of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in creating a business logo is more often than not the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo style for a software program designer the style features as well as renowned element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge in between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the significance behind a company logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to market their used products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Lake Zurich logo design dsign along with a graphic that garners the interest of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo design has a field included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms logo idea wasn’t actually created for an Lake Zurich area farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this company logo was one of many which fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was really to create a brand mark that projects trust, effectiveness, and affluence.
Logo developed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font style that is similar to a well-known sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool project where I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
