Lemont Logo Design

Virtually every new Lemont business realizes that they need a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly comprehend the pivotal role their business logo will perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has an instant and long-term effect on the prosperity of a business, go with the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Lemont companies prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be understood in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will remain legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Lemont coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were opening up in an old part of town and wanted to cast a retro tone without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both jobs by creating a business logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a classic business image.

medical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for Lemont clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that researches the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of healthcare which deals with the clinical examination of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it serves rather literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more memorable.

logo style with a jumping green frog designed for a household enjoyable center in Lemont.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - made for Lemont traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field because travel photographers don’t capture locations or things but rather reveal emotional journeys through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they often tell entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Lemont logo but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Lemont logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I really relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his scorn for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get objective viewpoints on the value of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his whole family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to create their logo comprehend how crucial a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design job possesses it’s portion of difficulties, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Lemont book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped parcel of real estate to work with, but it is the most important part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the initial thing a person sees in the book shop. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it looks like that in many instances one of the traits people tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small startup commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a success.

Lemont logo style utilized for marketing as well as a tag layout for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be antique cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that offered a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for every thing from a web page to a label on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Lemont, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to imply metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental business logos can be one of the most challenging logo design jobs because it appears that every single dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business advertising, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would most likely include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I really love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was evident was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to illustrate precisely how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which communicated a spirit of serenity and elegance for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a business logo which suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is more often than not the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the attention on the feeling that they wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo design for a software program designer the design features and also legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and drive management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the significance supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

A logo design featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the founders of On the Fly recognized the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a spot to sell their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Lemont logo design dsign using an image which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the picture of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo design wasn’t actually composed for an Lemont area farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this particular company logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to make a image that projects assurance, effectiveness, and opulence.
Logo designed for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked directly with the owner to design a logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
