Logan Square Logo Design

Every new Logan Square business realizes that they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs thoroughly grasp the crucial role their logo design can play in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design works far better than another. A logo has an immediate and long term effect on the growth of a company, select the correct one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Logan Square businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand contemplation, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo must be enduring and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike created for a Logan Square coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening up in an older part of the city and wished to visualize a retro vibe without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled the two tasks by developing a business logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, high energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and bacteria created for Logan Square medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical assessment of specimens of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Usually I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and much more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable facility in Logan Square.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I created was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - made for Logan Square travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but instead communicate emotional journeys by means of the pictures they capture. The idea behind this logo concept was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Logan Square logo but also to illustrate the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Logan Square logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the value of a design. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he proceeded with the original concept.

Custom logo designs are a weird creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo recognize how vital a logo is for their company so they are way more invested in the final result. Every logo project possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Logan Square publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most vital part of a published book since it is ordinarily the initial thing a person sees in the bookstore. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will likely ever get to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the individuals that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the items consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to affording a feeling of flight and it was definitely a winner.

Logan Square logo layout utilized for advertising and also a tag design for Vintage Situation features an archaic font design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for music instruments, that looked to be older cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for everything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Logan Square, layout consist of an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it appears that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dentists do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was evident was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members nonprofit, the logo design features 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to illustrate how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which conveyed an atmosphere of serenity and elegance for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious route of crafting just a stylized orchid but rather created a business logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo is frequently the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately laid the emphasis on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo style for a software program developer the style attributes and renowned aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive management. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to market their secondhand items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Logan Square logo dsign along with an image which garners the interest of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t really developed for an Logan Square regional farm it was in reality devised for a products broker, and this company was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to develop a brand mark that projected trust, financial success, and affluence.
Logo design developed for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate manuscript typeface that is similar to a well-known sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to design a logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
