Matteson Logo Design

Each and every new Matteson venture realizes that they need a logo, however few new business owners fully understand the vital role their company logo will play in their success, or precisely why one logo design works better than another. A logo has an instant and sustaining influence on the growth of a business, pick the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life of a company. The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Matteson businesses prosper, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be comprehended in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo will stay legible and just as emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the enterprise they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike developed for a Matteson coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an old section of the town and hoped to cast an old-fashioned atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks via creating a business logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and germs made for Matteson medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that deals with the clinical evaluation of specimens of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping green frog created for a family enjoyable center in Matteson.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental experts, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a better lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Matteson travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t shoot places or things but instead project emotional journeys through the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often convey whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Matteson logo but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Matteson logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly relish and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but my customer, while he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This guy really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his hatred for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to talk about it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family and they really loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their logo recognize how important a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s share of obstacles, but the greatest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, style for Matteson publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most crucial part of a printed book because it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity they will likely ever have to promote their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems that in many cases one of the items consumers usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a feeling of air travel and it was definitely a success.

Matteson logo design used for advertising and marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Situation includes an old typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this business logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Matteson, style include an arc with lines intersecting through it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that every dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I actually love doing dental care logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wants to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to explain exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo layout created for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a company logo which carried a spirit of peace and connection for their new hair salon. I created a design that didn’t go the obvious course of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather delivered a business logo which implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is frequently the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the attention on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Arabian horse logo design created for a horse ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian show steeds.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a unique logotype design fashioned to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian type of equines. By having an unique head form and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly immediately recognizable equine breeds in the whole world.

Las Coffee shop logo layout a little restaurant, design contains a changed script font which hovers over a team of elaborate lines and also dots.

Logo style for a software application developer the style attributes and iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and hard drive managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to describe anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the substance behind a company logo is equally as important as how it serves the organization it stands for.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This Matteson logo design job was performed for a leadership expert that helps business professionals to become more effective at supervising people, expectations, and productivity.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Matteson logo design dsign along with a graphic that garners the attention of traffic and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has actually an area included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand idea wasn’t really composed for an Matteson area farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this particular business logo was one of a handful of that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to make a brand mark that projects assurance, financial success, and luxury.
Logo design created for using a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is similar to a popular sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project where I worked directly with the business owner to produce a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
