Maywood Logo Design

Every new Maywood organization understands that they need a logo, yet few new business owners fully recognize the crucial role their organization logo will play in their financial success, or exactly why one logo design functions better than another. A logo has a critical and long term impact on the prosperity of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and an impediment for the life of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Maywood companies prosper, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo should be timeless and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike created for a Maywood coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an old section of the city and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these jobs via designing a trademark design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for Maywood clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which deals with the laboratory evaluation of samples of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and much more meaningful.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog designed for a family members enjoyable center in Maywood.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more lively high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Maywood traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche field because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead reveal emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo concept was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey significantly more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something comparable to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Maywood logo but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Maywood logo style with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his aversion for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest point of views on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to incorporate every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how essential a logo design is for their organization so they are much more invested in the final result. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of obstacles, however the biggest challenge is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo in the background, layout for Maywood book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, yet it is the most vital part of a published book considering that it is in most cases the first thing a person sees in the book shop. Concerning a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart however it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the aspects folks usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company situated in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Maywood logo design utilized for advertising and a label layout for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for music instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that offered a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Maywood, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry profession.

I actually love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or institution hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that describes itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design developed for a hair design workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that carried an atmosphere of peace and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of designing merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design using the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in creating a logo design is oftentimes the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the attention on the feeling that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program programmer the layout functions and iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it represented something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a logo is just as important as how it brands the business it represents.

Advance logo layout created for a Maywood interior developer, layout attribute a series of red circles that converge and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo design.

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Maywood logo dsign along with an illustration which grabs the interest of traffic and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has actually an area integrated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem idea wasn’t really composed for an Maywood area farm it was in reality devised for an investments broker, and this particular company was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to generate a graphic that projected trust, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design designed for using an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant script font style that is reminiscent of a popular sports group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake pastry shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the business owner to design a business logo that worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
