POINTERS FOR CHOOSING THE BEST LOGO DESIGNER

BUDGET

A business logo is an investment in both your time and your money so when a design agency presents a money back guarantee try to remember that they can’t reimburse the amount of time you invest which is eminently more precious than your money is.

PORTFOLIO

Many design firms talk a good game but inevitably a design firm can only be evaluated by the quality of their portfolio, if the work in their portfolio does not feature actual samples chances are they will not be able to produce a premium logo design.

VISION

A logo’s aim is to be recognized and be unforgettable, and it’s objective is to reflect your personal vision for your business. If a logo designer is not focused on actualizing your vision, the thing they are actually focused on is how soon they will get paid.

Melrose Park LOGO DESIGN

For over twenty years ImageCo has been helping businesses of all kinds establish memorable brands. We’ve undertaken brand design work for mechanics, colleges, heart surgeons, wedding singers, diners, retail stores, and just about every other kind of business you can think of. What makes ImageCo different compared to our competitors is that our background is rooted in the electrical sign industry so we approach every brand identity project as if it will be utilized as an electric sign. Because of our sign first strategy our logo designs can, and have been employed in everything from garment labels to electrical signs. Our sign first technique ensures that our logos are just as reliable whether they are used in television commercials or website headers, they are consistently identifiable, comprehended, and always remembered irrespective of scale or application.

American Made ★ Design

Something that truly sets ImageCo apart from other design agencies that you might have stumbled upon in search results, companies like Thumbtack, Design Hill, Upwork, or Crowdspring is that each and every design project we are retained to do, we do ourselves. No matter the type of design project we undertake, logo design, web page, trade show exhibit, or electric sign, we do not, and never will farm-out our customer’s projects to contractors located outside the USA. When you call us at 1-855-IMAGECO the party that answers the telephone is ImageCo’s owner and designer, not a broker that increases the price of your project and dictates the terms of how we conduct business.

ASPECTS OF A GREAT LOGO DESIGN

Virtually every new Melrose Park business understands that they require a logo, but few start-ups entirely understand the key role their business logo will play in their financial success, or the reason that one logo functions far better than another. A logo has an immediate and sustaining effect on the success of a business, choose the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the longevity of a business. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Melrose Park companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t require deliberation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from label to billboards a scalable business logo will be legible and equally emotive at every scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they feel exclusive, and they are suitable for the product or organization they brand.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be enduring and will feel equally relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

understanding branding

Brand – It’s a verb and a noun, it is an identifying mark and also the process of marking something to make sure that it could be recognized, its foundation comes from the mark burned onto livestock. Today a brand signifies virtually anything with an objective, regardless if it be profit or politics, a brand is an inherent aspect of defining the worth of a specific thing in the consumer’s mind.

Branding – Is sort of like advertising and marketing’s sexy sister, they are both from the same family, the distinction being that advertising and marketing have to do with making a promise and branding’s goal is to deliver on that promise. Branding is also a calculated popularity contest targeted at a target audience, it’s goal is to create an image that the audience can connect to.

Brand Image – An image planted and nurtured through advertising and marketing and also identity design. When somebody mentions the names Lamborghini or Corvette what we think of is their brand image, it’s an image that exists in our minds. That image isn’t an image of an automobile with 4 wheels that can carry us from point A to point B, the the mental image we have (or at least I have) is of speed, beauty, of something dangerous and exotic . That is brand image and that is what makes individuals want those products. Brand image is why individuals identify with specific brands, from Nike to Adidas Chevy or Ford, Democrats or Republicans … all driven by brand images that we can relate to.

Branding Companies – If you look back at the origin of many branding firms you’ll find that they are quite often rebranded marketing and advertising firms. When a person says they are in advertising many people will likely have an idea about the type of work they do anything that can be seen, felt or heard become part of a brand identity.

Brand Identity Designers
– A brand identity designer is a visual designer that focuses on a type of visual design which helps shape the image of a business, a product or a business. Brand identity designers produce logo designs, signage designs, product packaging, as well as collateral material such as cards, stationery, and also sales brochures. Some identity designers also build web sites and also user interfaces. The vital duty of a brand identity designer is to establish the visual cues and also a psychological tone with the goal of influencing activities, end results and also assumptions.

Featured SIGNS & LOGOS

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Melrose Park coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening up in an old section of the community and really wanted to cast a nostalgic atmosphere without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved each of the tasks by means of designing a logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for Melrose Park clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the triggers and consequences of diseases, especially the branch of healthcare which deals with the laboratory examination of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I remember in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more appealing, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping eco-friendly frog made for a household fun facility in Melrose Park.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the sorts of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dental experts, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - designed for Melrose Park travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture locations or things but instead convey emotional journeys by means of the images they record. The idea behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I made an effort to do something comparable to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Melrose Park logo design but also to reveal the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Melrose Park logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage them to share it with friends and family members as well as with folks that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased judgements on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family members and they adored the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of challenges, but the largest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Melrose Park book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow slice of real estate to work with, however it really is the most crucial part of a printed book because it is often the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With respect to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will likely ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it looks like that in many instances one of the things individuals usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to imparting a feeling of airline flight and it was surely a success.

Melrose Park logo style used for advertising and also a label design for Vintage Instance features an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be antique cases. For this logo design I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another generation.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Melrose Park, layout include an arc with lines intersecting via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo projects considering that it appears that almost every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental professionals do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an image of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental care logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain area of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and inevitably I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this concept over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family not-for-profit, the logo features 4 characters surprised in elevation to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to summarize specifically how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that explains itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a Melrose Park hair design studio featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which projected a feeling of peace and connection for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of crafting simply a stylized orchid but instead designed a business logo which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is oftentimes the wrong route and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the emphasis on the perception that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Arabian steed logo layout developed for an equine ranch that focuses on reproducing Arabian program horses.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

ImageCo created a distinct brand design customized to illustrate the unique physical traits of the Arabian kind of equines. By having a distinctive head shape and high tail posture, the Arabian is one of the highly easily recognizable horse types in the entire world.

Las Cafe, A Melrose Park restaurant logo design a tiny restaurant, style contains a modified manuscript font which floats over a team of elaborate lines and dots.

Las Cafe | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

Las Coffee shop logo layout a small dining establishment, style contains a modified script typeface which floats above a team of elaborate lines as well as dots.

Logo design for a software programmer the layout features as well as iconic Melrose Park component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk operations. The kernel links the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism supporting a business logo is just as important as how it brands the company it represents.

Advance logo style developed for a Melrose Parkinterior designer, layout function a collection of red circles that intersect and replace the letter O in the center of the logo design.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

Evolv Design is a Melrose Park interior design company and this logo design is representational of the work that an interior designer does in. An interior designer is somebody who plans, investigates, collaborates, and oversees such ventures. logo design done for Advanced Leadership Solutions in Melrose Park, the personalities for letter V as well as A in middle of the word progressed have actually been modified to connect straight right into the words listed below.

Advanced Leadership Solutions | Logo Design | Website Design

This particular Melrose Park logo design job was done for a leadership expert that assists business professionals to become more successful at managing people, expectations, and productivity.

A Melrose Park business logo layout featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment firm. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of interests, a location to sell their used products to other sports enthusiasts.

I tailored their Melrose Park business logo design along with an image which captures the attention of traffic and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.

Logo layout MQ ranches, this Melrose Park company logo layout has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t actually developed for an Melrose Park area farm it was actually devised for an investments broker, and this particular creative logo was one of a handful of which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to design a graphic that projected self-assurance, financial success, and affluence.

Melrose Park Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout function for externally encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they wanted, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it grants a designer the flexibility to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s difficult to hit a bullseye in the absence of knowing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I hit a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo made for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is evocative a popular Melrose Park sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed loads of restaurant business logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to design a logo which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
