Rockford, Illinois Logo Design

Each and every new Rockford company understands that they need a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly recognize the key role their logo will perform in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo design functions more effectively than another. A company logo has an instant and sustaining impact on the financial success of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the incorrect one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a company.

The logos included in the ImageCo portfolio help Rockford, Illinois companies prosper, they are effective in any given situation and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand consideration, they can be comprehended in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and forty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Rockford, Illinois coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an older part of the community and hoped to visualize a retro atmosphere without coming across as monotonous or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by means of developing a company logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a timeless business image.

clinical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria made for Rockford, Illinois clinical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is the sole instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Generally I try not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more interest grabbing and more memorable.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family fun facility in Rockford, Illinois.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a some springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a more enthusiastic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Rockford, Illinois traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional journeys through the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to convey more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Rockford logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Rockford logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family did not share his hatred for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a client I urge all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased assessments on the worthiness of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to create their logo comprehend how essential a logo is for their organization so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo project has it’s portion of difficulties, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Rockford, Illinois publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, but it really is the most essential part of a published book since it is usually the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to spotlight their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems that in many cases 1 of the traits individuals often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their organization logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to affording a good sense of flight and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Rockford logo design utilized for advertising and a label design for Vintage Instance features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be antique cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from a different point in time.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Rockford, Illinois, design consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design jobs because it appears that every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business advertising, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental offices do every one of their logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain anything they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the families in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being openly cheesy about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to describe exactly how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo design created for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird as well as an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design that conveyed a spirit of serenity and elegance for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious path of designing simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is generally the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the emphasis on the perception that they wanted to project to their clients.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Las Cafe logo style a little dining establishment, style contains a customized script font style which floats above a group of ornate lines and dots.

Logo layout for a software programmer the layout attributes as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and disk managing. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it represented something to the business owner of the company and in many cases the substance supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the enterprise it represents.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly knew the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a location to sell off their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Rockford logo design dsign using an illustration that grabs the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has actually an area incorporated into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t actually designed for an Rockford, Illinois regional farm it was in reality developed for a commodities broker, and this creative logo was one of a handful of that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to make a image that projected self-confidence, financial success, and wealth.

Rockford Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for outwardly dealing with arrowhead and also the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they preferred, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the freedom to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s tricky to hit a bullseye in the absence of realizing where exactly the target is. Fortunately, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo created for using an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is similar to a popular sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logos and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
