Saint Charles Logo Design

Each and every new Saint Charles venture knows they require a logo, yet few entrepreneurs fully understand the pivotal role their logo will play in their success, or the reason that one logo works more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and long term impact on the success of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of an organization. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Saint Charles companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require scrutiny, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo must be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo style of a bike produced for a Saint Charles coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening up in an old part of the city and wished to visualize a retro vibe without appearing as uninteresting or low energy. I accomplished both tasks by means of designing a business logo concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscopic lense slide and also bacteria developed for Saint Charles medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine which deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the only instance I recollect in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that helps make it more appealing, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping green frog made for a family fun center in Saint Charles.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park that I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the clear choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they utilized for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and also a tree - made for Saint Charles traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche speciality because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather communicate emotional journeys by means of the pictures they record. The idea behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they frequently convey whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Saint Charles logo but also to show the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Saint Charles logo layout with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail business.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design jobs that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but the client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular guy truly loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his hatred for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the merit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to create their business logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the end result. Every logo design project possesses it’s portion of hurdles, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Saint Charles book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a printed book because it is in most cases the primary thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the most ideal opportunity that they will ever have to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems that in many occurrences 1 of the traits people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller fledgling commuter/shuttle airline company located in LA and although I’m not sure it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a feeling of air travel and it was certainly a victory.

Saint Charles logo design utilized for advertising and marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old-fashioned typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in all new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this custom logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could easily be utilized for everything from a website to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Saint Charles, style include an arc with lines intersecting via it to indicate metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logos can be one of the most challenging logo projects because it appears that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental offices do every one of their logos would be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would probably have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I actually love doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and ultimately I created a design that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a family nonprofit, the logo design includes 4 characters surprised in height to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to explain specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that explains itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo layout created for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a logo design which conveyed a spirit of peace and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept that did not go the obvious path of designing just a stylized orchid but instead designed a logo design that implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated in to the letter O in the title and by putting emphasis on the concept using the figure of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is oftentimes the incorrect course and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead put the main focus on the perception that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo design for a software program programmer the design attributes as well as famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that performs as a connection between the software and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the owner of the business and in many cases the substance supporting a company logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly knew the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, fishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a place to market their previously owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Saint Charles logo dsign utilizing an image that garners the attention of vehicles and sends an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo style has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms company logo concept wasn’t really developed for an Saint Charles area farm it was really developed for a products broker, and this logo was one of a handful of which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to develop a brand mark that projected assurance, financial success, and luxury.
Logo designed for making use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is similar to a popular sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve created dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a great undertaking in which I worked directly with the proprietor to create a business logo which worked very well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
