Streamwood, Illinois Logo Design

Nearly every new Streamwood organization understands that they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly understand the crucial role their logo design can play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo functions better than another. A logo design has an immediate and lasting influence on the financial success of a company, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the incorrect one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life of a company.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Streamwood, Illinois companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require consideration, they can be grasped in merely a look.
  2. Scalability: from labels to signboards a scalable logo design will stay legible and just as emotive at virtually any size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design must be timeless and will feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bicycle produced for a Streamwood, Illinois coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an older section of the town and really wanted to project a retro feel without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by means of developing a custom logo design that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, high energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and also germs made for Streamwood, Illinois medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the root causes and effects of diseases, mainly the field of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is the sole instance I call to mind where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it serves fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more interesting, more focus grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo layout with a leaping green frog developed for a family fun facility in Streamwood, Illinois.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for physicians, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a more enthusiastic high energy feel.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they utilized for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a flock of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - developed for Streamwood, Illinois traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo job I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the images they record. The thought behind this logo design was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first glance, which I think is representative of most professional photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Streamwood logo design but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Streamwood logo design with a seagull made use of for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of custom logo design jobs that I take on I truly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I encourage all of them to share it with colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t even know so as to get honest assessments on the benefit of a design concept. Fortunately, he discussed it with his whole family and they really liked the design and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Business logos are a weird creature in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo understand how vital a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo project has it’s allotment of hurdles, however the greatest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Streamwood, Illinois book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped slice of real estate to work with, yet it is the most vital part of a printed book due to the fact that it is often the very first thing a person views in the bookstore. For a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will ever have to promote their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo created for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with the bars customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the traits people tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest fledgling commuter/shuttle airline located in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was surely a success.

Streamwood logo design used for advertising and marketing as well as a label design for Vintage Instance includes an old-fashioned font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be antique cases. For this custom logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another generation.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Streamwood, Illinois, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to imply steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to company branding, if restaurants approached their advertising in the same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s company logo but it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dental logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in height to represent a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the people in his community. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be very literal about what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to relate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly tacky about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to illustrate specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo design produced for a hair style workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a company logo that projected a sense of calmness and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which did not go the obvious course of making simply a stylized orchid but alternatively delivered a company logo which implied a flower in the formation of a swirl incorporated into the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is in most cases the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead laid the importance on the perception that they really wanted to forecast to their clients.

Logo design for a software program developer the layout functions and also legendary component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the owner of the company and in many cases the symbolism supporting a logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year selling supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly realized the market was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell off their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Streamwood logo dsign utilizing an illustration that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has a field integrated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem design wasn’t actually designed for an Streamwood, Illinois regional farm it was really designed for a commodities broker, and this business logo was one of multiple that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was actually to develop a image that projects self-assurance, effectiveness, and opulence.

Streamwood Logo design for a not-for-profit, Turning Point Solutions - the logo design function for outwardly facing arrowhead and also the arrowheads indicate that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it gives a designer the flexibility to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s hard to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first shot.

Logo design designed for making use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript typeface that is evocative a renowned sporting activities group logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve crafted dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to produce a business logo which worked extremely well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated sign that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
