Westchester Logo Design

Each and every new Westchester organization understands that they require a logo, however few new business owners entirely comprehend the key role their logo design will play in their becoming successful, or the reason that one logo works far better than another. A business logo has a critical and long-term influence on the prosperity of a company, select the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, go with the wrong one and it can be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of an organization. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Westchester businesses succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the reason they are so effective is that they all have these 5 traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs do not require consideration, they can be realized in merely a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will remain legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that function on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a business logo needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from today.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Westchester coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an older part of the town and wished to visualize a retro atmosphere without appearing as monotonous or low energy. I achieved both jobs via creating a business logo concept that includes a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo style with a microscope slide as well as germs developed for Westchester clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which investigates the triggers and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine that deals with the clinical evaluation of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo design I came up with is really the sole instance I call to mind in which I was in a position to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Typically I attempt not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it serves very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that makes it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more memorable.

logo design with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family enjoyable center in Westchester.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a handful of springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they utilized for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I did was transformed into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo design including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - created for Westchester traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather project emotional experiences through the images they record. The thought behind this logo concept was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most good photographers in that they often share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something much the same to this logo by making use of the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Westchester logo but also to reveal the depth in her art and in the way that she sees the world through the lens of her camera.

Westchester logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of business logo design projects that I take on I genuinely enjoy and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but my client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family members didn’t share his aversion for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage them to share it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced assessments on the benefit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logo designs are a strange animal in the design world because the people that tend to hire a professional to design their logo design comprehend how vital a logo is for their company so they are much more invested in the outcome. Every logo project has it’s portion of obstacles, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s required to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, style for Westchester book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender parcel of real estate to work with, however it is the most critical part of a published book considering that it is often the first thing a person views in the bookstore. Regarding a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever have to advertise their product and get their logo design in front of the men and women that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go yet it looks like that in many instances 1 of the traits folks often tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a feeling of airline flight and it was certainly a success.

Westchester logo style used for advertising and also a label design for Vintage Situation features an archaic font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be much older cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that provided a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for anything from a web site to a label on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another point in time.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Westchester, design include an arc with lines intersecting through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most challenging logo design projects due to the fact that it appears that virtually every dentist involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their advertising in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and inevitably I created a concept that doesn’t have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities surprised in height to stand for a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution hopes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that communicated that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo to summarize how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If people have to think about a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair style workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo design which projected a feeling of ease and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that did not go the obvious route of designing merely a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo design which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a logo design is frequently the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their customers.

Logo layout for a software designer the layout functions and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and drive managing. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection in between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a few miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the owner of the business and in many cases the significance supporting a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the enterprise it represents.

A logo style including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was ready for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment firm. Whether or not you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a location for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of interests, a place to sell their pre-owned equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Westchester logo design dsign using an illustration that garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that invokes the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and tranquil habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo style has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually designed for an Westchester regional farm it was actually developed for an investments broker, and this logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was really to generate a image that projects trust, success, and wealth.
Logo design designed for the use of an indication for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project in which I worked closely with the owner to design a logo design which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
