Carmel Logo Design

Each and every new Carmel company understands that they need a logo, however few entrepreneurs thoroughly grasp the key role their business logo will make in their success, or precisely why one business logo functions better than another. A logo has an immediate and lasting influence on the financial success of a business, select the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of a company. The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Carmel companies succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and just as emotive at any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo style of a bike developed for a Carmel coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening up in an old part of the area and wished to cast a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both of these tasks by designing a symbol concept that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide and germs created for Carmel medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline that investigates the root causes and outcomes of diseases, mainly the field of medicine that deals with the clinical assessment of specimens of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recollect where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be extremely literal with a design and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents rather literally, however it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the name that makes it more interesting, more focus grabbing and more meaningful.

logo layout with a jumping eco-friendly frog made for a family enjoyable facility in Carmel.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dental practices, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the name of the business features the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a few springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was turned into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

photography logo including a flock of birds, a mountain, a trail, a stream, and a tree - developed for Carmel traveling photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers tend not to capture places or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the images they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of professional photographers in that they oftentimes convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to voice one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Carmel logo design but also to illustrate the depth to her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Carmel logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I honestly relish and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the letter A but the client, even though he loved the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular guy seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his friends and family didn’t share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family as well as with individuals that they don’t actually know so as to get objective viewpoints on the benefit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really loved the design and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to design their business logo realize how crucial a logo design is for their business so they are way more invested in the outcome. Every logo design job possesses it’s allotment of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a company and also giving the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Carmel publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a cramped piece of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a printed book since it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the book store. Concerning a publishing company, it’s the best opportunity that they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo made for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart however it seems that in many cases 1 of the items consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small fledgling commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to affording a spirit of airline flight and it was surely a victory.

Carmel logo style made use of for advertising and marketing and also a label style for Vintage Situation features an antiquated typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand-new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo design I sought to come up with a logo that provided a fluid old style feel to it and could easily be used for anything from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design created for an orthodontist in Carmel, design consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest metal dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care business logos can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo design projects due to the fact that it seems that each and every dentist includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logos are one of the very most cliche ridden careers when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their company logos would definitely be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo design but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really love doing dentistry logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a layout that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family members nonprofit, the logo includes 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the families in his community. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize how individuals ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo design produced for a hair layout studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo which carried a sense of ease and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept that did not go the obvious course of creating simply a stylized orchid but instead delivered a business logo that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl featured in to the letter O in the title and by placing emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in creating a company logo is usually the wrong path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the emphasis on the emotion that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo style for a software application developer the layout features and legendary element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it intimated something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a business logo is equally as important as how it brands the company it stands for.

Progress logo style created for a Carmel indoor developer, design function a series of red circles that intersect as well as replace the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

Evolv Interior Design | Logo Design | Branding

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a place to market their previously owned items to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Carmel business logo dsign along with an illustration that pulls in the interest of traffic and projects an image that wakens the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages 45 mph I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ farms, this logo style has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo design wasn’t actually composed for an Carmel regional farm it was in reality designed for a products broker, and this particular logo was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to develop an identity that projects trust, success, and opulence.
Logo design developed for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script typeface that is similar to a famous sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed quite a lot of restaurant custom logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a great project where I worked closely with the proprietor to design a business logo which worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
