Hammond Logo Design

Every new Hammond venture knows they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners thoroughly are aware of the key role their logo will make in their financial success, or precisely why one business logo performs more effectively than another. A logo has an immediate and long-term influence on the prosperity of a company, choose the right one and it will make the door swing and cash register ring, select the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the life span of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Hammond companies succeed, they are effective in any given circumstance and the main reason they are so effective is that they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logos don’t demand consideration, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to billboards a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be enduring and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from today.

Retro logo design of a bike developed for a Hammond coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee bar were actually opening in an old part of town and wished to project an old-fashioned feel without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved both of these jobs by means of developing a business logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscope slide and also bacteria designed for Hammond clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that researches the triggers and outcomes of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the laboratory assessment of samples of human body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic reasons.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the only instance I call to mind where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a business logo design.

Typically I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a degree, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, yet it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more captivating, more interest grabbing and a lot more meaningful.

logo style with a leaping green frog created for a family enjoyable facility in Hammond.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the usual of the types of jobs which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dental offices, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the opportunity to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to include a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun place to go and spring does not really reflect an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, ultimately I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better lively high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they used for marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, as well as a tree - developed for Hammond travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche profession because travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional experiences by means of the pictures they capture. The thought behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of most good photographers in that they often tell whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with mere words. I attempted to do something very similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Hammond logo but also to show the depth in her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Hammond logo design with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design jobs that I take on I really enjoy and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, however the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, while he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man really hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his friends and family did not share his contempt for this particular variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial opinions on the merit of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how crucial a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo design job has it’s allotment of difficulties, but the largest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo in the background, design for Hammond book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow parcel of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most crucial part of a printed book considering that it is usually the first thing a person views in the book store. With regard to a publisher, it’s the absolute best opportunity that they will ever have to publicize their brand and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design created for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart yet it looks like that in many occurrences one of the traits consumers tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their business logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to imparting a spirit of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Hammond logo style used for advertising and marketing and also a tag style for Vintage Case features an old-fashioned font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this logo design I tried to come up with a logo that provided a fluid nostalgic feel to it and could easily be utilized for anything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another era.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Hammond, layout include an arc with lines converging through it to suggest steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental care logo designs can be one of the most challenging and difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every dental professional involves a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the same way dental practitioners do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining something they served, McDonalds would likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo design nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I really love doing dentist business logos because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a layout that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t overt, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a family not-for-profit, the logo design features 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family unit with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be representative of the devotion that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain portrayals of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to communicate.

The McNally Foundation’s name offered a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being openly corny about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to illustrate exactly how people should think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If you have to consider a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly understood and a logo that illustrates itself won’t have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which projected a sense of simplicity and elegance for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of designing simply a stylized orchid but alternatively created a logo that implied an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept using the silhouette of a hummingbird floating above the logo itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is oftentimes the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately placed the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to transmit to their clients.

Logo layout for a software application developer the style features as well as famous component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory management, process and task management, and hard drive operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that acts as a connection between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a couple of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone about what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. But it meant something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning behind a company logo is just as important as how it brands the organization it stands for.

Progress logo design created for a Hammond interior designer, style attribute a collection of red circles that intersect and also change the letter O in the middle of the logo layout.

This particular Hammond logo design job was completed for a management guide that helps business leaders to become more efficient at handling people, expectations, and profitability.

A logo layout featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With companies such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly understood the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, angling or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a place to sell their used goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Hammond logo design dsign with an image that grabs the attention of vehicles and projects an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo layout has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms emblem concept wasn’t actually composed for an Hammond regional farm it was actually created for a products broker, and this particular company was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was really to generate an identity that projected assurance, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design designed for using an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script font that is evocative a famous sports team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted loads of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking in which I worked closely with the business owner to develop a logo design which worked very well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
