Muncie Logo Design

Every new Muncie business understands that they require a logo, but few new business owners entirely realize the crucial role their company logo will perform in their success, or exactly why one logo performs far better than another. A logo design has an immediate and long-term effect on the prosperity of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be a barrier and a hindrance for the life of a business. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Muncie businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five things in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at any size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any type of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo should be lasting and should feel relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from now.

Retro logo style of a bicycle produced for a Muncie coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffeehouse were actually launching in an older part of the area and really wanted to visualize a nostalgic tone without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I achieved both of these tasks by designing a company logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Muncie clinical facility.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which analyzes the causes and effects of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare which works with the clinical evaluation of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic purposes.

The Mid-Valley Pathology logo I came up with is really the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a concept and to a degree, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more focus grabbing and even more unforgettable.

logo layout with a leaping green frog made for a family members enjoyable facility in Muncie.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for medical professionals, dentists, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the business has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy impression.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my brainchild and named the frog Jax and featured him in to everything they used for promotion and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a group of birds, a hill, a route, a stream, and a tree - designed for Muncie traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a fairly specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of almost all good photographers in that they oftentimes share whole stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey much more than that because their photos often have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I attempted to do something similar to this logo design by employing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Muncie logo design but also to reveal the depth to her art and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Muncie logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of business logo design projects that I take on I seriously enjoy and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the letter A but the client, while he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man truly despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I urge all of them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unbiased viewpoints on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he talked about it with his family members and they loved the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he proceeded with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world given that the people that are inclined to hire an expert to create their logo design comprehend how crucial a logo is for their business so they are much more invested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s portion of obstacles, but the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo style with bamboo behind-the-scenes, layout for Muncie publication author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin piece of real estate to work with, yet it is the most vital part of a printed book due to the fact that it is in most cases the initial thing a person views in the book shop. Regarding a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will ever get to spotlight their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vibrant, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of space for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches modified to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go nevertheless it looks like that in many cases one of the things individuals often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young startup commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not sure it really “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a sense of air travel and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Muncie logo design made use of for advertising and marketing and a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old font style style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in brand new cases for musical instruments, which seemed to be much older cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different era.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in Muncie, design consist of an arc with lines converging through it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can be one of the most difficult logo jobs due to the fact that it seems that virtually every dentist integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to small business advertising, if dining establishments approached their branding in the very same way dentists do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would probably include an image of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind including an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care profession.

I actually love doing dentistry logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd approach that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and subsequently I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design designed for a family nonprofit, the logo features 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a logo that would be illustrative of the devotion that William McNally had for the folks in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve discovered that the best designs are the ones that are understated and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a custom logo design which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The aim of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to illustrate specifically how people should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that describes itself will never have the likelihood to be understood.

Logo design developed for a hair style workshop featuring a manuscript font a hummingbird and also an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a business logo which projected a sense of serenity and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious path of crafting simply a stylized orchid but rather created a company logo which suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the logo design with the figure of a hummingbird floating above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is usually the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead laid the main focus on the perception that they wanted to transmit to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software application developer the layout functions as well as iconic element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk management. The kernel unites the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that serves as a connection between the software program and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone with regards to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it symbolized something to the owner of the company and in many cases the significance supporting a business logo is just as important as how it serves the business it stands for.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the owners of On the Fly understood the market was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment business. Whether you are into boating, angling or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a place to market their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I tailored their Muncie business logo dsign with a graphic which garners the attention of traffic and sends an image that evokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo design MQ ranches, this logo style has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo idea wasn’t really created for an Muncie area farm it was really developed for a commodities broker, and this particular creative logo was one of many that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was actually to create a graphic that projects confidence, financial success, and prosperity.
Logo design developed for making use of an indication for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the business owner to produce a business logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
