Muncie, Indiana Logo Design

Every new Muncie venture understands that they require a logo, however few entrepreneurs fully recognize the crucial role their logo design will make in their financial success, or why one logo design works better than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting effect on the success of a company, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and cash register ring, choose the wrong one and it can be a barrier and a hindrance for the longevity of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Muncie, Indiana businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable business logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at any scale.
  3. Versatility: logos that work on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are unique, and they are suitable for the company they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a company logo needs to be ageless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from now.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Muncie, Indiana coffee cafe and also a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This budding coffee roaster and bistro were launching in an old part of the area and hoped to cast an old-fashioned vibe without coming across as uninteresting or low energy. I fulfilled the two jobs by designing a business logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo design with a microscopic lense slide and bacteria designed for Muncie, Indiana clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that studies the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the laboratory examination of samplings of body cellular material for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is really the sole instance I recall in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Usually I try not to be extremely literal with a concept and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents very literally, yet it does it in a fashion that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and a lot more unforgettable.

logo design with a leaping environment-friendly frog designed for a household fun center in Muncie, Indiana.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the kinds of jobs which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the title of the company has the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a couple of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo design featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and a tree - made for Muncie, Indiana travel digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche area due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead reveal emotional journeys through the images they record. The thought behind this logo design was to use negative space to convey more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is quintessential of most professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be revealed with mere words. I attempted to do something much the same to this logo design by making use of the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Muncie logo but also to illustrate the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Muncie logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The bulk of logo design projects that I take on I seriously take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I certainly felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the concept of using the seagull silhouette as a stroke in the character A but my customer, while he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This particular man really loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family did not share his aversion for this specific type of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to share it with friends and colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective opinions on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Logos are a strange animal in the design world because the people that have a tendency to hire a professional to design their logo design realize how important a logo is for their business so they are much more vested in the result. Every logo job has it’s allotment of difficulties, however the biggest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that functions really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, design for Muncie, Indiana book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender slice of real estate to work with, yet it really is the most necessary part of a printed book since it is usually the first thing a person views in the book shop. For a publisher, it’s the optimal opportunity that they will ever get to publicize their label and get their logo design in front of the individuals that buy actual books.

This three color design is vibrant, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go however it seems like that in many occurrences 1 of the items individuals often tend to recall the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a young new venture commuter/shuttle airline based in LA and while I’m not sure it actually “took off” their logo design didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to confering a feeling of airline flight and it was definitely a victory.

Muncie logo style used for marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Instance includes an old font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, which seemed to be older cases. For this logo concept I strove to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from a different generation.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Muncie, Indiana, style consist of an arc with lines converging via it to suggest metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo jobs due to the fact that it appears that each and every dental professional incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their company logos would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely include an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth associated to a dentist’s logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I really love doing dental logo designs simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a certain area of the field of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo created for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters staggered in height to stand for a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be depictive of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain depictions of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be far too literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a unique opportunity to do a custom logo design that communicated that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo to summarize specifically how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the goal of a logo. If people have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo that illustrates itself will never have the likelihood to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair style studio including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a business logo which communicated a spirit of relaxation and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of creating merely a stylized orchid but instead designed a company logo that suggested a flower in the formation of a swirl blended into the letter O in the title and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the logo design itself. The obvious path in designing a business logo is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but alternately put the importance on the feeling that they really wanted to forecast to their patrons.

Logo design for a software developer the style functions and renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and disk management. The kernel connects the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that functions as a bridge between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the owner of the business and in many cases the symbolism behind a logo design is just as important as how it brands the enterprise it stands for.

A logo style featuring a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly in the direction of the customer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the owners of On the Fly realized the market place was prepared for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or rock climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all types of passions, a location to sell their previously owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I created their Muncie logo design dsign along with an illustration that garners the attention of vehicles and projects an image that wakens the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages 45 miles per hour I realized it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo style MQ farms, this logo design has an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually developed for an Muncie, Indiana regional farm it was in reality designed for a products broker, and this creative logo was one of several that fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was to make a graphic that projects trust, financial success, and prosperity.

Muncie Logo design for a not-for-profit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo design feature for ostensibly encountering arrow and also the arrowheads imply that it is a diamond shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they would like, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the liberty to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without realizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I nailed a bullseye with the first shot.

Logo design created for making use of an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a famous sports team logo.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant business logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the US, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the owner to create a business logo that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the illuminated signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very legible from over a block away.
