Muncie, Indiana Logo Design

Virtually every new Muncie business person knows they need a logo, yet few new business owners fully realize the vital role their company logo can make in their success, or why one logo performs more effectively than another. A company logo has an immediate and lasting impact on the viability of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the incorrect one and it can be an obstacle and a hindrance for the longevity of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Muncie, Indiana businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the reason why they are so effective is because they all have these five features in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not require deliberation, they can be understood in merely a glimpse.
  2. Scalability: from labels to billboards a scalable business logo will stay legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos which function on any type of device, in print, on product packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the business they represent.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be ageless and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and 20 years from today.
Retro logo design of a bicycle developed for a Muncie, Indiana coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This start-up coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening up in an old part of town and really wanted to visualize a vintage vibe without coming across as stodgy or low energy. I accomplished both of these tasks by creating a company logo design that features a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide as well as germs developed for Muncie, Indiana medical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the causes and effects of diseases, especially the field of medicine which works with the laboratory evaluation of samples of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is the sole instance I recall where I was able to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a business logo design.

Generally I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this specific design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an illustration of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the brand that makes it more intriguing, more focus grabbing and a lot more memorable.

logo design with a jumping green frog designed for a household enjoyable facility in Muncie, Indiana.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental professionals, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have ever gotten the opportunity to work on.

Given that the title of the company features the word springz in its name the obvious choice would have been to include a some springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring doesn’t really resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this logo design project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the title itself to provide the logo a better dynamic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my design and named the frog Jax and integrated him in to everything they used for marketing and advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I designed was transformed into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look exactly like my frog design.

photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and a tree - designed for Muncie, Indiana traveling digital photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I believe it is a niche sector because travel photographers tend not to shoot places or things but instead communicate emotional experiences through the images they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to use negative space to communicate more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is quintessential of almost all good photographers in that they often convey entire stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a 1000 words but I think that some photographs convey a great deal more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance that can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was communicated through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Muncie logo but also to illustrate the depth of her work and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Muncie logo style with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail organisation.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of business logo design projects that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless project was one that I certainly felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my enthusiasm for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however the client, even though he loved the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This man genuinely hated seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family didn’t share his hatred for this specific kind of sea bird.

When I turn a concept over to a customer I urge them to talk about it with friends and family as well as with other people that they don’t actually know so as to get unbiased judgements on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … eventually I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Business logos are a strange creature in the design world because the people that tend to hire an expert to create their logo comprehend how important a logo is for their organization so they are way more vested in the end result. Every logo project has it’s portion of difficulties, however the most significant obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that operates really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo design with bamboo behind-the-scenes, style for Muncie, Indiana book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin slice of real estate to work with, nevertheless it really is the most critical part of a printed book because it is usually the first thing a person sees in the bookstore. With regard to a publishing company, it’s the optimal opportunity they will likely ever get to advertise their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design developed for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo has 2 letter A's with benches customized to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and go nevertheless it seems that in many cases one of the aspects consumers often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller start-up commuter/shuttle air service situated in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their organization logo didn’t slow them. The bookend A’s in their name lent itself well to conferring a spirit of air travel and it was undoubtedly a victory.

Muncie logo style made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a label layout for Vintage Case includes an archaic typeface layout.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in new cases for music instruments, that seemed to be older cases. For this custom logo concept I sought to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for every thing from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from another point in time.

Logo created for an orthodontist in Muncie, Indiana, layout include an arc with lines converging with it to suggest steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most difficult logo design jobs due to the fact that it seems that every single dentist features a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logos are one of the most cliche ridden fields when it comes to business marketing, if restaurants approached their branding in the exact same way dental offices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind incorporating a likeness of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dentists logo that litter the branding landscape of the dentistry industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics delivered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the concept. When I turned this design over to the client the only smile that was obvious was actually the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo developed for a household not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 characters startled in height to stand for a family with in the design.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy method to any logo design is to be very literal with regards to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wants to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo design that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly cheesy about it. The objective of a logo is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer attempts to use the logo design to summarize specifically how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the mission of a logo. If viewers have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the chance to be comprehended.

Logo style developed for a hair style workshop including a manuscript font a hummingbird as well as a suggested orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios required a company logo which carried a feeling of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I came up with a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of creating merely a stylized orchid but rather crafted a logo design which suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing emphasis on the concept along with the figure of a hummingbird hovering above the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is oftentimes the incorrect direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the flower but instead placed the importance on the emotion that they wanted to transmit to their customers.

Logo design for a software application programmer the layout attributes and famous aspect of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the principal part of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and drive operations. The kernel links the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge in between the software and hardware.

The business logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to spell out anything to anyone regarding what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However it symbolized something to the business owner of the company and in quite a few cases the meaning supporting a company logo is just as important as how it serves the business it represents.

A logo layout including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the audience.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year selling goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly understood the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting retailer that functions as a consignment company. Whether you are into boating, fishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of passions, a spot to market their pre-owned goods to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Muncie logo dsign with an image that grabs the attention of traffic and projects an image that invokes the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get travelers to take notice, hence the image of a fly fisherman in his natural and peaceful habitat.
Logo style MQ ranches, this logo design has actually a field incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms brand concept wasn’t actually composed for an Muncie, Indiana area farm it was actually created for a commodities broker, and this particular trademark was one of several which fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The objective was to generate a brand mark that projects confidence, effectiveness, and luxury.

Muncie Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Factor Solutions - the logo design feature for externally encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was entirely open to what kind of logo design that they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the opportunity to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without recognizing where the target is. Fortunately, in this particular instance, I struck a bullseye with the first try.

Logo created for the use of a sign for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is a luxuriant manuscript font style that is reminiscent of a renowned sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created quite a lot of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeries to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a cool undertaking in which I worked directly with the owner to design a logo that worked really well and did a fantastic job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
