New Albany Logo Design

Every new New Albany company knows they are in need of a logo, yet few new business owners entirely are aware of the vital role their company logo will perform in their financial success, or exactly why one logo functions more effectively than another. A business logo has a critical and long term impact on the financial success of a company, go with the right one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, select the wrong one and it will be an obstacle and a hindrance for the life span of a company. The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help New Albany businesses succeed, they are effective in any given situation and the reason why they are so effective is that they all have these five traits in common.
  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t require contemplation, they can be grasped in just a look.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to signboards a scalable logo will continue to be legible and just as emotive at virtually any dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are personal, and they are suitable for the organization they stand for.
  5. Relevance: a logo design needs to be timeless and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and thirty years from now.

Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a New Albany coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This startup coffee roaster and cafe were actually opening in an old part of the town and really wanted to cast a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I fulfilled both tasks via designing a custom logo design that uses a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a enduring business image.

medical logo style with a microscope slide as well as bacteria created for New Albany medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science that analyzes the triggers and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of healthcare that works with the laboratory evaluation of samplings of body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I call to mind in which I was able to integrate a bacteria-laden microscope slide into a logo design.

Typically I try not to be overly literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that makes it more interesting, more attention grabbing and even more memorable.

logo layout with a leaping environment-friendly frog created for a household enjoyable facility in New Albany.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the norm of the kinds of projects which come my way, I’ve done dozens of logo designs for health care providers, dentists, and attorneys but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to feature a handful of springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring doesn’t actually reflect an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, inevitably I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a better enthusiastic high energy atmosphere.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for advertising and marketing. I also believe this is the only time that a logo I did was turned into a mascot when they had an employee costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo featuring a flock of birds, a mountain, a route, a stream, and also a tree - developed for New Albany travel photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a rather specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche speciality due to the fact that travel photographers don’t shoot locations or things but rather convey emotional experiences by means of the photos they record. The idea behind this logo composition was to make use of negative space to project more than what was visible upon first view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often convey entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be communicated with just words. I tried to do something the same to this logo by employing the positive space in the design to suggest one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in hindsight, that my objective was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  New Albany logo design but also to show the depth in her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

New Albany logo layout with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a wireless retail service.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously relish and the Coastal Wireless assignment was one that I really felt good about, however the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull form as a stroke in the letter A however my customer, even though he liked the concept, didn’t care for my choice of birds. This guy genuinely despised seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, luckily the rest of his family members did not share his contempt for this particular kind of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage all of them to discuss it with friends and colleagues and family members as well as with people that they don’t actually know so as to get impartial assessments on the merit of a design. Fortunately, he shared it with his family members and they really loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … in the end I was able to talk him out of his choice of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Logo designs are a strange creature in the design world because the people that are inclined to hire a professional to design their logo comprehend how vital a logo design is for their organization so they are much more vested in the outcome. Every logo design project possesses it’s allotment of challenges, but the greatest challenge is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a company and also providing the client the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for New Albany book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a narrow segment of real estate to work with, but it is the most vital part of a published book considering that it is often the first thing a person views in the book store. With respect to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity that they will ever get to promote their label and get their logo design in front of the men and women that buy actual books.

This three color design is vivid, colorful and eye-catching and it gives plenty of area for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design designed for an airline in Los Angeles, the logo has two letter A's with the bars modified to indicate they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and go yet it seems that in many cases 1 of the traits people usually tend to recollect the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a modest startup commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it really “took off” their business logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to imparting a spirit of air travel and it was certainly a winner.

New Albany logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing and also a tag design for Vintage Instance features an old typeface design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case focused in brand new cases for musical instruments, that appeared to be older cases. For this business logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that had a fluid retro feel to it and could easily be used for every thing from a website to an insignia on brand new cases that appeared like they were from a different generation.

Logo design developed for an orthodontist in New Albany, style include an arc with lines converging via it to indicate steel dental braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can easily be one of the most difficult logo projects due to the fact that it seems that every single dental professional integrates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to business branding, if restaurants approached their branding in the very same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would probably have an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s logo but it has to be done subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental care industry.

I really enjoy doing dentist logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a particular area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the clichéd solution that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics offered such an opportunity and ultimately I created a concept that doesn’t have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this particular concept over to the client the only smile that was evident was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design developed for a family members not-for-profit, the logo design includes 4 personalities surprised in elevation to represent a family with in the layout.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation contacted ImageCo to help them come up with a custom logo design that would be representative of the love that William McNally had for the people residing in his city. The majority of logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy approach to any logo design is to be far too literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the business or organization hopes to project.

The McNally Foundation’s name presented a distinct opportunity to do a logo that communicated that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The objective of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo design to explain how individuals should think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If viewers have to think about a logo to understand what it means, it has been in vain, a logo needs to be immediately understood and a logo design that explains itself won’t have the opportunity to be comprehended.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout studio including a script font a hummingbird and an indicated orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios desired a business logo which related an atmosphere of contentment and connection for their new hair salon. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious route of designing just a stylized orchid but alternatively designed a business logo which implied an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated into the letter O in the name and by placing attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is frequently the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but instead put the importance on the emotion that they wanted to forecast to their customers.

Dazzo Arabians | Logo Design

Logo layout for a software program designer the design functions and renowned component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the central component of an operating system (OS). Typically, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task management, and disk operations. The kernel unites the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a connection in between the software and hardware.

The logo I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a few miles from the offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to explain anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. Nevertheless it symbolized something to the business owner of the business and in quite a few cases the symbolism behind a logo design is equally as important as how it serves the organization it represents.

A logo design featuring an angler in the center of the name casting a fly in the direction of the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year retailing supplies and equipment to outdoor sporting lovers the founders of On the Fly knew the market place was ready for an outdoor sporting store that functions as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly presents a destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a location to sell their secondhand goods to other sports enthusiasts. I created their New Albany logo design dsign utilizing an illustration which garners the interest of vehicles and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I knew it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and relaxed habitat.
Logo layout MQ ranches, this logo layout has an area incorporated right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t actually created for an New Albany regional farm it was in reality created for a commodities broker, and this particular brand was one of several that fell underneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The goal was actually to develop a graphic that projects self-assurance, effectiveness, and prosperity.
Logo design developed for the use of a sign for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate manuscript font that is evocative a famous sporting activities team logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have crafted dozens of restaurant logos and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I believe Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked closely with the proprietor to design a logo that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it worked on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted signage which hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
