Terre Haute, Indiana Logo Design

Virtually every new Terre Haute venture understands that they are in need of a logo, but few new business owners fully understand the essential role their organization logo can play in their success, or exactly why one logo performs far better than another. A logo has a critical and long term impact on the prosperity of a business, go with the correct one and it can make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it can be an obstacle and an impediment for the life span of an organization.

The logos featured in the ImageCo portfolio help Terre Haute, Indiana businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logo designs don’t demand contemplation, they can be comprehended in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to posters a scalable logo design will remain legible and equally emotive at every size.
  3. Versatility: logos that operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball-cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a business logo should be lasting and will feel relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty years from today.

Logo PORTFOLIO Volume 1

Retro logo style of a bike created for a Terre Haute, Indiana coffee cafe and a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and coffee shop were actually opening in an old section of the town and wished to project a retro tone without appearing as boring or low energy. I accomplished each of the tasks by means of creating a business logo design that contains a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is antiquated, higher energy, and is a ageless business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs created for Terre Haute, Indiana clinical center.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the scientific discipline which investigates the root causes and outcomes of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the clinical assessment of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic objectives.

The Mid-Valley Pathology brand I came up with is the only instance I remember where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide within a logo design.

Typically I try not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents fairly literally, but it does it in a fashion that incorporates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as a description of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancement to the brand that helps make it more appealing, more interest grabbing and even more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping eco-friendly frog created for a family members enjoyable facility in Terre Haute, Indiana.

Cool Springs | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a very fun project to work on, most likely because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s also a project that is way out of the usual of the sorts of projects which come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for doctors, dental offices, and lawyers but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park that I have actually ever gotten the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the company has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to incorporate a couple springs into the concept but Cool Springz is a fun location to go and spring does not actually resonate an environment of fun does it. My thought process on this project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, eventually I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to give the logo a better dynamic high energy mood.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and included him in to everything they utilized for advertising. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had a staff member costume fabricated to look just like my frog design.

photography logo design including a flock of birds, a hill, a path, a stream, and a tree - designed for Terre Haute, Indiana traveling professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty specialized field of photography and I think it is a niche sector due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but instead convey emotional experiences through the photos they capture. The idea behind this logo design was to make use of negative space to reveal more than what was visible upon initial glance, which I think is quintessential of almost all professional photographers in that they frequently share entire stories through their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey considerably more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional resonance which can’t be conveyed with just words. I tried to do something very similar to this logo by utilizing the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Terre Haute logo design but also to show the depth of her art and in the way that she perceives the world through the lens of her camera.

Terre Haute logo layout with a seagull used for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The lion’s share of logo design jobs that I take on I seriously savor and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I really felt good about, but the customer didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A but my customer, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This particular man seriously loathed seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, fortunately the rest of his family didn’t share his contempt for this specific variety of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a customer I encourage them to discuss it with friends and family members as well as with people that they don’t even know so as to get unprejudiced opinions on the value of a design concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his family and they really liked the concept and were able to reason with him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to include every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his preference of a pelican and he went with the original design.

Custom logo designs are a strange animal in the design world given that the people that have a tendency to hire an expert to design their business logo understand how essential a logo is for their business so they are way more invested in the result. Every logo design project has it’s allotment of hurdles, but the largest obstacle is identifying that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the job it’s needed to do in branding a business and also giving the customer the identity they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo in the background, layout for Terre Haute, Indiana book author

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a thin segment of real estate to work with, nevertheless it is the most necessary part of a printed book since it is ordinarily the very first thing a person views in the book shop. With regard to a publisher, it’s the best opportunity they will likely ever have to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that shop for actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of territory for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with benches customized to suggest they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines come and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many instances 1 of the things consumers tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a small start-up commuter/shuttle airline situated in LA and although I’m not certain it actually “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their brand lent itself well to confering a feeling of air travel and it was surely a success.

Terre Haute logo layout made use of for advertising and marketing as well as a label style for Vintage Instance includes an old font style design.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in all new cases for musical instruments, which appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I attempted to come up with a logo that provided a fluid vintage feel to it and could be utilized for everything from a web site to an insignia on brand new cases that seemed like they were from another era.

Logo design produced for an orthodontist in Terre Haute, Indiana, style consist of an arc with lines intersecting with it to indicate metal braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dentistry logos can easily be one of the most challenging logo design jobs considering that it seems that almost every dental professional includes a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dental business logos are one of the most cliche ridden careers when it comes to small business marketing, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental professionals do every one of their company logos would be a picture trying to explain something they served, McDonalds would likely have a picture of a potato and a cow.

I recognize the thinking behind adding an illustration of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental industry.

I actually really love doing dentistry logo designs because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies the field of dentistry or a specific area of dentistry like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a solitary smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still implied in the design. When I turned this design over to the customer the only smile that was obvious was the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo design created for a household nonprofit, the logo design features 4 personalities startled in elevation to represent a family unit with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation reached out to ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be depictive of the devotion that William McNally had for the residents in his city. Most logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain images of a happy family, a cliche heavy technique to any logo design is to be very literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best designs are the ones that are downplayed and don’t hit the viewer on the head with what the company or organization wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a distinct opportunity to do a logo which conveyed that they were about families without being overtly tacky about it. The goal of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer makes an effort to use the logo design to describe exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the purpose of a logo. If you have to ponder a logo design to understand what it means, it has failed, a logo needs to be immediately comprehended and a logo that describes itself won’t have the chance to be understood.

Logo style created for a hair layout workshop including a script font a hummingbird and also an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios wanted a logo which related a feeling of contentment and class for their new hair salon. I came up with a concept which didn’t go the obvious direction of creating simply a stylized orchid but rather crafted a business logo that suggested an orchid in the pattern of a swirl blended in to the letter O in the name and by putting emphasis on the logo design along with the figure of a hummingbird floating over the image itself. The obvious path in designing a company logo is usually the incorrect path and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately placed the main focus on the perception that they really wanted to project to their patrons.

Logo layout for a software program developer the design functions and also iconic component of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key part of an operating system (OS). Generally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the system hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that behaves as a bridge in between the software program and computer hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is situated a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to point out anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it intimated something to the owner of the company and in many cases the meaning behind a business logo is just as important as how it serves the enterprise it stands for.

A logo design featuring an angler in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the visitor.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brand names such as Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in over 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting enthusiasts the owners of On the Fly knew the market was prepared for an outdoor sporting merchant that operates as a consignment business. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a venue for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all kinds of interests, a spot to market their secondhand equipment to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Terre Haute business logo dsign utilizing an image that captures the attention of traffic and projects an image that arouses the enthusiasm of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five miles per hour I realized it would take more than the average logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the graphic of a fly fisherman in his natural and serene habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo style has a field included right into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms custom logo design wasn’t really composed for an Terre Haute, Indiana area farm it was really devised for a commodities broker, and this brand was one of several that fell under the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The end goal was to produce a graphic that projected self-assurance, effectiveness, and affluence.

Terre Haute Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo style attribute for ostensibly encountering arrowhead and also the arrowheads suggest that it is a ruby shape.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was completely open to what kind of logo design that they would like, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it provides a designer the liberty to explore any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye in the absence of recognizing where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this case, I nailed a bullseye with the very first go.

Logo developed for the use of an indicator for the restaurant (Brewgrrs), it is an elaborate script typeface that is similar to a well-known sporting activities group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I have created dozens of restaurant logo designs and establishment signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments|eateries} all over the USA, from cupcake bake shops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat project in which I worked directly with the business owner to develop a logo design that worked extremely well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the lighted sign which hung above their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
