Zionsville, Indiana Logo Design

Nearly every new Zionsville business person knows they are in need of a logo, but few entrepreneurs thoroughly grasp the essential role their business logo will take in their success, or why one business logo functions far better than another. A logo design has a critical and lasting effect on the viability of a business, pick the right one and it will make the door swing and phone ring, go with the wrong one and it will be a barrier and an impediment for the life span of a business.

The logos presented in the ImageCo portfolio help Zionsville, Indiana businesses succeed, they are effective in any given scenario and the main reason they are so effective is because they all have these 5 traits in common.

  1. Simplicity: simple logos do not demand scrutiny, they can be understood in just a glance.
  2. Scalability: from business cards to movie screens a scalable logo design will be legible and equally emotive at every dimension.
  3. Versatility: logos which operate on any sort of device, in print, on packaging, on a mobile phone, or on a ball cap.
  4. Suitability: they are appropriate, they are exclusive, and they are suitable for the company they represent.
  5. Relevance: a company logo must be lasting and should feel as relevant today, tomorrow, and twenty five years from now.
Retro logo layout of a bike produced for a Zionsville, Indiana coffee cafe as well as a coffee roaster.

Ferry Street Coffee Company | Logo Design | Retail Branding

This fledgling coffee roaster and bistro were opening in an older part of the community and hoped to visualize a nostalgic atmosphere without appearing as boring or low energy. I achieved the two tasks by means of developing a logo design that incorporates a man on a high wheel bicycle (aka The Penny Farthing), it is old-fashioned, higher energy, and is a classic business image.

clinical logo layout with a microscopic lense slide and also germs made for Zionsville, Indiana medical clinic.

Mid-Valley Pathology | Logo Design

Pathology is the science which studies the causes and consequences of diseases, mainly the branch of medicine that works with the clinical examination of samplings of human body tissue for diagnostic or forensic intents.

The Mid-Valley Pathology custom logo design I came up with is really the only instance I recall where I was in a position to incorporate a bacteria-laden microscope slide right into a business logo design.

Normally I attempt not to be excessively literal with a design and to a point, this design approaches the company it represents quite literally, yet it does it in a way that integrates the slide as part of the name so it doesn’t serve so much as an explanation of what Mid-Valley Pathology does so much as acts as an enhancer to the name that helps make it more intriguing, more attention grabbing and more meaningful.

logo style with a jumping environment-friendly frog designed for a family members fun facility in Zionsville, Indiana.

Cool Springz | Logo Design | Retail Branding

The Cool Springz Trampoline Park was a really cool project to work on, probably because a trampoline park is all about fun. It’s additionally a project that is way out of the norm of the types of projects that come my way, I’ve produced dozens of logo designs for surgeons, dentists, and legal professionals but Cool Springz is without question the one and only trampoline park which I have actually ever had the privilege to work on.

Given that the full name of the business has the word springz in its name the apparent choice would have been to integrate a couple springs into the design but Cool Springz is a fun destination to go and spring does not actually resonate an atmosphere of fun does it. My thought process on this logo project went from springs (boring) to what jumps around, kangaroos … but kangaroos are cute and this place is cool, in the end I landed on a green tree frog and a dimensional treatment of the name itself to provide the logo a much more enthusiastic high energy feeling.

In the end, Cool Springz ended up loving my concept and named the frog Jax and incorporated him in to everything they used for marketing. I also think this is the only time that a logo I came up with was made into a mascot when they had an employee costume fashioned to look just like my frog design.

digital photography logo including a group of birds, a hill, a trail, a stream, and also a tree - developed for Zionsville, Indiana travel professional photographer.

Travel Don’t Wander | Logo Design | Website Design

Travel Don’t Wander was a custom logo design project I took on for a travel photographer, which is a pretty niche field of photography and I believe it is a niche field due to the fact that travel photographers don’t capture places or things but rather convey emotional journeys by means of the images they capture. The idea behind this logo composition was to utilize negative space to project more than what was visible upon initial view, which I think is representative of the majority of good photographers in that they often tell whole stories using their photography.

It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words but I think that some photographs convey a lot more than that because their photos frequently have an emotional fullness that can’t be communicated with just words. I made an effort to do something much the same to this logo design by using the positive space in the design to say one thing and then at the same time using the negative space to expand upon what was conveyed through the first impression. I think, in looking back, that my goal was to both brand this photographer with a memorable  Zionsville logo design but also to reveal the depth of her work and in the way that she views the world through the lens of her camera.

Zionsville logo style with a seagull utilized for the letter A. Designed for a cordless retail company.

Coastal Wireless | Logo Design

The majority of custom logo design projects that I take on I honestly take pleasure in and the Coastal Wireless design was one that I certainly felt good about, but the client didn’t quite share my excitement for it. I felt really good about the idea of using the seagull shape as a stroke in the character A however the client, even though he liked the concept, really did not care for my choice of birds. This man really disliked seagulls, which he referred to as the “rats of the sky”, thankfully the rest of his family did not share his contempt for this specific breed of sea bird.

When I turn a design over to a client I encourage all of them to discuss it with colleagues and family as well as with individuals that they don’t even know so as to get objective judgements on the worthiness of a concept. Fortunately, he shared it with his whole family and they loved the concept and were able to persuade him and get him to sign off on it, but not before he worked me over to insert every other seabird he could think of … ultimately I was able to talk him out of his alternative of a pelican and he went with the original concept.

Business logos are a weird animal in the design world given that the people that tend to hire a professional to create their logo recognize how crucial a logo is for their company so they are way more vested in the result. Every logo project has it’s portion of challenges, however the greatest obstacle is finding that sweet spot in a design that works really well at the task it’s needed to do in branding a business and also providing the customer the image they see for themselves.

a red panda logo layout with bamboo behind-the-scenes, design for Zionsville, Indiana book publisher

Red Panda Publishers | Logo Design

The book spine is a slender piece of real estate to work with, but it is the most essential part of a published book given that it is ordinarily the primary thing a person views in the book shop. With respect to a publisher, it’s the opportunity that they will ever get to advertise their brand and get their logo design in front of the people that purchase actual books.

This 3 color design is vivid, picturesque and eye-catching and it leaves plenty of room for the title and the author’s name.

Air LA logo design made for an airline company in Los Angeles, the logo design has two letter A's with the bars changed to imply they are wings.

Air LA | Logo Design

Airlines arrive and depart nevertheless it seems like that in many instances one of the items consumers often tend to remember the most are their logos. The Air LA logo design was done for a smaller new venture commuter/shuttle air service based in LA and while I’m not certain it really “took off” their custom logo didn’t ground them. The bookend A’s in their title lent itself well to conferring a spirit of airline flight and it was undoubtedly a winner.

Zionsville logo design used for marketing and a tag design for Vintage Situation features an old-fashioned font style.

Vintage Case | Logo Design

Vintage case specialized in new cases for music instruments, that appeared to be vintage cases. For this logo concept I tried to come up with a logo that possessed a fluid vintage feel to it and could be used for every thing from a web page to an insignia on brand new cases that looked like they were from another era.

Logo produced for an orthodontist in Zionsville, Indiana, style consist of an arc with lines converging with it to imply steel braces.

Kujak Orthodontics | Logo Design | Sign Design

Dental logo designs can be one of the most challenging logo design projects considering that it seems that almost every dentist incorporates a smile, a tooth, a smiling tooth, or a toothy smile in their design. Dentistry logo designs are one of the very most cliche ridden professions when it comes to company branding, if dining establishments approached their branding in the exact same way dental practices do every one of their logo designs would definitely be a picture explaining anything they served, McDonalds would most likely contain an image of a potato and a cow.

I understand the thinking behind incorporating an image of something mouth related to a dentist’s company logo nevertheless it has to be performed subtly or it will just look like every other clipart dental professionals logo that litter the branding landscape of the dental profession.

I really love doing dentistry business logos simply because it challenges me to come up with a design that implies dentistry or a certain field of dental treatment like orthodontics without resorting to the stereotypical course of action that so many dentists settle on.

Kujak Orthodontics provided such an opportunity and eventually I created a design that does not have a single smile or a tooth in it, but even though they aren’t obvious, they are still suggested in the concept. When I turned this particular concept over to the customer the only smile that was apparent was really the smile on Dr. Kujak’s face.

William McNally logo designed for a household nonprofit, the logo includes 4 characters staggered in elevation to stand for a family with in the style.

William McNally | Logo Design | Branding

The William McNally Family Foundation asked ImageCo to help them come up with a brand identity design that would be illustrative of the love that William McNally had for the folks in his community. Many logos with the name “family” in them tend to contain pictures of a happy family, a cliche heavy strategy to any logo design is to be overly literal pertaining to what the name says or the industry it represents. I’ve found that the best concepts are the ones that are understated and never hit the viewer on the head with what the company or institution wishes to convey.

The McNally Foundation’s name provided a unique opportunity to do a logo that conveyed that they were about families without being overtly corny about it. The intention of a logo design is to be remembered and recognized and if the designer tries to use the logo to explain exactly how people ought to think or feel they don’t understand the objective of a logo. If people have to consider a logo to understand what it means, it has fallen short, a logo needs to be instantly comprehended and a logo design that illustrates itself will never have the opportunity to be understood.

Logo layout produced for a hair layout workshop featuring a script font a hummingbird and an implied orchid for the letter O.

Wild Orchid Studio | Logo Design Project

Wild Orchid Studios needed a company logo that carried a sense of tranquility and class for their new hair studio. I created a concept that didn’t go the obvious course of designing just a stylized orchid but instead delivered a logo design that suggested an orchid in the formation of a swirl integrated in to the letter O in the name and by putting attention on the concept with the silhouette of a hummingbird hovering over the logo itself. The obvious path in creating a logo is generally the wrong direction and in this case, the design ended up not being about the orchid but alternately put the importance on the emotion that they really wanted to project to their clients.

Logo layout for a software program designer the layout functions and also famous element of a bridge to the left of the name.

Smart Kernels | Logo Design

A kernel is the key component of an operating system (OS). Traditionally, the kernel is responsible for memory administration, process and task control, and hard drive operations. The kernel attaches the computer hardware to the application software. In other words a kernel is {essentially|quite literally a bridge that operates as a bridge between the software program and hardware.

The logo design I came up with for Smart Kernels was based on an actual bridge that is located a number of miles from the business offices of Smart kernels. It’s a logo design that doesn’t attempt to identify anything to anyone pertaining to what business they are in or how it relates to their specific location. However, it meant something to the business owner of the business and in many cases the meaning supporting a logo is equally as important as how it brands the business it stands for.

A logo design including a fisherman in the middle of the name casting a fly towards the viewer.

On The Fly | Logo Design | Retail Branding

With brands like Cabelas and Bass Pros raking in more than 7 billion a year offering goods and equipment to outdoor sporting fans the founders of On the Fly recognized the market place was primed for an outdoor sporting store that operates as a consignment company. Whether or not you are into boating, sportfishing or mountain climbing, or even hunting, On the Fly provides a place for outdoor sports enthusiasts with all sorts of passions, a spot to market their pre-owned products to other sports enthusiasts. I designed their Zionsville logo design dsign using an illustration that captures the interest of traffic and sends an image that arouses the passion of the outdoors. With visitor traffic that averages forty five mph I knew it would take more than the typical logo/sign to get commuters to take notice, hence the illustration of a fly fisherman in his natural and calm habitat.
Logo design MQ farms, this logo layout has actually an area included into the letter Q.

MQ Farms | Logo Design | Branding

The MQ farms business logo concept wasn’t actually designed for an Zionsville, Indiana regional farm it was really created for a products broker, and this particular company logo was one of many which fell beneath the MQ umbrella … MQ commodities was one, MQ trading was another. The aim was to create a brand mark that projected self-confidence, effectiveness, and prosperity.

Zionsville Logo design for a nonprofit, Transforming Point Solutions - the logo layout attribute for externally encountering arrowhead as well as the arrowheads imply that it is a ruby form.

Turning Point Foundation | Logo Design

The Turning Point Foundation was totally open to what kind of logo design they desired, that can be a good thing or a bad thing. Good in that it offers a designer the liberty to investigate any idea that comes to mind, bad in that it’s challenging to hit a bullseye without understanding where exactly the target is. Thankfully, in this instance, I struck a bullseye with the first go.

Logo design created for using an indicator for the dining establishment (Brewgrrs), it is an ornate script font style that is similar to a famous sports group logo design.

Brewgrrs Restaurant | Logo Design | Restaurant Branding

I’ve designed dozens of restaurant custom logo designs and business signs for restaurants, diners, sports bars, night clubs, dining establishments, and eateries all over the United States, from cupcake bakeshops to pizza parlors and oyster bars, out of all of them I think Brewgrrs was my absolute favorite. Brewgrrs was a neat undertaking where I worked directly with the business owner to create a logo design that worked really well and did a great job to brand them, it functioned on everything on everything from coasters, and tap handles all the way to the neon signage that hung over their doors, and was highly visible and very easy to read from over a block away.
